⚠: Some people are telling me that my prices of the Takumars area not reflecting the reality. Sorry for u guys, but where I am living the 135/f3.5 cost around $20/$30. The one on the table costed me $19 exactly (shout out to Minh✊) and the other one in my Takumar set video costed me $36.
@@fredr.
let me start by saying i absolutely loved the video. The editing style and the amount of effort you put into your videos is really inspiring. From the very start of the video i was glued in and engaged to see whats coming next, that takes talent in this saturated youtube landscape. keep it up man, I know you dont have a lot of subs yet, which frankly is a crime! considering the quality content you put out on your channel, but i predict that you're channel will blow up eventually. Anyways I'm really exited to see what you do next.
@@fredr. One thing though, I think you should add some subtitles as sometimes it can be hard to make out what you're saying as you have a deeper voice plus some accent. It doesn't take away the whole video, but I did have to rewind a couple of times. Just fyi 👌
@@MaxPs95 Just put some automatic subtitles from RU-vid. The video must have taken some huge amount of time. I wouldn't be bothered about adding subtitles if I wore him.
I'm still in love with your narrative style and how you introduce your acting too in the production. As I have G.A.S. too and I own 30+ vintage lenses, I"m really inspired by your editing style and made me think about starting a channel on my own too. You are one of a kind and not for the regulars/plebs/everyday media consumers... It's an experience... but people who are looking for value, art and out of the box stuff, they gonna find you soon. I promise!
Thanks for your kind words Szekeres. That's great if I can be some motivation to you or anyone to start put their gear at work. Since the corona lock-downs, I am one big believer that our ability to imagine is critical to our mental health and stability, and one must take some time to create something or anything. Nothing worst that a mind that just consumes (thinking about my kids... sigh). And I don't think I wrong on this one: usually depressed people don't dream anymore. It was my 2 cents to tell you that if something in you keeps repeating you to "create", it means better listening and start ASAP especially before the old age of regrets. PS: Real creative filmmakers usually don't maintain a YT channel. They don't have time for that.
You have crazy editing skills Fred. I have the Super multicoated Tak 135 f2.5, 6 elements version. It's such a great lens. Got it for 56 euros. I was so sucked into the vintage glass world that I kept buying whatever the major youtube channels recommended. However, whenever I want to shoot with a takumar, I always find myself picking the SMC 45-125mm f4. It gives me the flexibility of multiple focal lengths while enjoying the takumar look. And about the 1.5m minimum focal distance, I usually attach the Takumar close-up lens that usually comes with the 85-210mm lens. It helps reduce the distance by a tiny bit, and it's also 58mm, so it fits perfectly on the 135mm lens.
Thank you my Friend. I made an effort to shot everything in this video with the Taks (28, 50, 55, 135) with wide angle adapter when necessary, excepted the shots inside the box (meike 12mm) and above the table (iphone) and oh my... I am definitely spoiled. Since you mentioned it, I am searching right at the Takumar diaopter... I hope to find it before I finish the 2nd part.
@@fredr. The diopter was designed for the Takumar 85-210mm F4.5 because it has a 3meters minimum focus distance. So the close-up lens helps reduce it to 1.9m. The close-up lens is 58mm in diameter. I just use it on the 135mm and it helps reduce the distance as well. Infact I also attach it to my iPhone 14 Pro. I noticed that it reduces the sharpness of the iPhone as well 😂. If your 135mm has a filter size of 58mm, then it should be a perfect fit.
Hi Fred, Your creativity and humour keep making me come back for more. I love it! Keep up the good work. Do you create your motion graphics in Apple Motion or some other application?
Maintenant tu sais.
Bro fact is this time I spent more time fixing the lighting and get something acceptable in camera. Then changed the camera color profile from Natural to Cine-V just to try. And as most of the clips were looking good in FCP I just dropped a build-in Lut of FCP to pop up the blue, decreased the saturation (still not enough as far I see) and voilà! 🤷♂️ Did not spent much time on the color grading. Mostly on degrading the images to remove the cheap 8 bits look.
Bro you defenitively don't know what you are talking about, you can worship the devil only by listening to Travis Scott, eating Mc Donalds, Tortured meat from slaughterhouse that you can buy anywere, looking at the mainstream TV, and mostly : don't think out the society box. You seriously need to learn Stanley Films, not looking at them, learn them.
