They are closed for asbestos fibres, but they are still mining asbestos rocks, which they are selling here in Canada as well.

The mining was closed as recent as 2012 so its not like this is over and we can move on from it. The worst is yet to come for innocent local and Indian victims. Many are already experiencing the health dangers associated with this poisonous material. We knowingly profited from mining and exporting poison.

They still use it in canada and other countries just not in the same things they use to. It's still used in brake pads and other things where they need the toughest materials

These people choose to work with a dangerous product with no regard for safety. Canada is not to blame for Indian issues.

The mining in Quebec only ended as recently as 2012 so what difference would mentioning when this documentary aired make? What's next? Canadian pharmaceuticals profiting from this disaster and national shame?

It is still an important story because mining asbestos to sell to poorer countries, even in 2011, is pretty unethical and criminal.

This video is published in 2016. So the mining and sale of asbestos was happening at least until then.

I call bologna on that. Our Federal Government had a responsibility and instead the Liberal and Conservative Government funded over 20 million dollars to keep the lies flowing that it was safe, and many more in funding spent to solicit more buyers. That is "Liberal and Conservative," (not the Bloc party). That means Federally Canada is very much responsible, and your comment is pure discrimination. Actually, considering these factories also cause problems for surrounding communities, I would say it is most likely the opposite of your assumption.

Now, it is time for Russia to sell asbestos in Canada as well, just don't let it reach alaska...

lol Indian government should just ban asbestos like the EU did. You cannot sue someone if the risk is well known and you still use it. Now Canada stopped exporting and the Indians switched to Russian asbestos.
