All you had to do was drill holes in the kayak to allow the screw to go flush. Open the circular hatchet and install the nylon washers and nuts. Great video overall it helped my husband and I mount his motor. Thank you
I got one to and did it different. Drilled through the plate and the hull for more support with bigger washers and sealed it with water proofing.l The long screws are there for that not to cut short ones are for the motor plate.
Thanks for posting! I just picked mine up about a week ago but have yet to install the motor. I like the bracket placement you chose allowing the motor to sit as far back as possible. I'll be using your method with a few tweaks to install mine. Thanks for the help!
No problem man. I try to use the simplest methods and work with what you got. I appreciate the view. I actually just took the kayak out today in my opinion it did way better than what I expected. The motor was strong and accurate at 22 mph wind gust with a constant 15 mph. Not that fishing was good but I'm very pleased with this setup
@@texasjonesfishing1318 Yeah, I fished yesterday and it wasn’t that great of a day either. Just finished my motor install and it went quick with no issues. Thanks again!
Do you know how wide of a gap are between the mount holes. I have a 128x and I want to mount a diy mount but I’m not in town currently but I was hoping to make a mount where I’m At currently
I have the lights but have not put them on yet, I have lights on my L4 Expedition and you can't drill in that or just really don't suggest doing that I ran the wires under a clear tape called Alien tape it is pretty amazing stuff it's not coming off I actually used it for a keel guard so it has been submerged for days at a time and has not budged or let any moisture in, it is quite amazing, gorilla mounting tape is comparable to it. I'll be watching your stuff to see what you do for lights and if I see anything I think is a good idea I'll send it to ya I've been waiting as well brother.
@@flintriverkayaking7051 he'll yea man I appreciate it. I have pump tape for water wells lol I'm new to yaks so I do what I can to get by lol if I screw it up to bad I guess I'll buy another yak lmao 🤣 jk
Trust me, all you needed to do was a dry fit on the mount, then get I think it was 15/64 bit. There is a video on RU-vid of where I got the idea from. I'll share the link.
