The truth is, their EG group is up to it's eyeballs in debt, currently over nine billion pounds. Their combined business asset values are less than what they owe, how is that a success story?
Most companies are in debt, Apple, at&t, Ford, Volkswagen. EG group will deffo come up with ideas to combat their debt vs the value of the company. It’s crazy to think that more companies are in debt cuz they’re so successful.
@@paulaw6491 That's as maybe, but what happened to the principles of Riba for such a devout pair? I guess the building of a Mosque or two, will offset matters!
No sorry when you work for them you understand why they drive a bugatti because they are ruthless and are getting rid of long standing hard working people who deserve a dam site better.
It's a heavily leveraged buy-out! The core fundamentals of a business, or its new investment strategies, regardless. The food matket is in decline, and consumers are constantly looking for bargains. Outlook to repay this debt is a massive haul. Words really don't justify the strategies in which the current markets are going.
Surrprising that the garage fuel retailing emopire was built up so successfully, in a market already well covered by the major oil companies. What was the USP? I have been to several of their garages, and not noticed anything special.....
I was hoping Asda would improve after the sale but my store is even worse than it was before. Fewer staff lots of empty shelves. Not only that the prices of just about everything has increased significantly.

the wonders of capitalism ! very motivating and inspiring ! Lifting the tide for all ! The rich get richer and the poor get poorer Lol !!! hahahah Well done Gents ! From £0 to a Billion !!! IMPRESSIVE !!!!!
I agree - they seem tensed and obviously this is a script they are reading of. But they have done well - this is a big move for them and one that will take them into the very very big league.
They’re already planning to get rid of the sharesaver scheme, which lets employees invest in company shares an make profit, then plan on doing this as soon as they properly take over in 2021
Sorry it sounds like I’m saying that the Issa bro’s are to blame for the stopping of the sharesaver scheme, this is Not the case. The ShareSaver Scheme is coming to an end because Walmart will no longer be the majority shareholder and its Walmart that run the scheme through Asda ( hence why the shares available are Walmart shares and not shares in Asda its self) I hope the Issa Bro’s roll out another benefit scheme now the ShareSaver is ending.
Recently in the news, they have now told us, George dept, will not be sold of, but is this the whole truth. From what I have seen, it not more of a sale, but a lease, and one of the contenders to run George, is Next
One of my mates work in Asda, and she told me, they lose around £2000 per month, through self scan due to theft, and not enough staff to watch these tills. If you shop in a Asda 24 hr store after 10 pm, you might find there no security on the door, perfect opportunity to shop lift
Wait till you have a buisness which I'm sure you probably never will but if you did ever have a small one you will bite your own words thief's will love your business
Well done to these 2 but unfortunately destroying the core values off Asda no longer Intrested in its customers only Intrested in profit since these 2 have taken over just there fuel price alone has never been reduced to what it should be which allows other supermarkets also no having to reduce its prices on fuel and only the public lose out Asda should never have been sold to these guys
What an embarrassment Asda is with these two clowns. Obviously reading from a script, so unprofessional. How they got the role I’ll never know. Poorly executed video, awful management.
They did good but isn’t their business haram??? U can’t just become a billionaire in 10 years! Allah destroys interest and gives increase for charities. (Quran 2:276) O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. (Quran 2:278-9) I’m not a hater trust if they did it without using money from banks, but if they used investors and made a deal of what returns the investors would get them that completely different. I just hope they are setting a very good example as a Muslim to do business the halal way and not the haram way. Most of euro garages sell hatam lotto tickets etc and I know we live in a western country but that still should not hold you against your morals and ethics
Let Allah make the judgement - it is their relationship with Allah SWT and not for others to make comments. Whether Halal or Not - I would like to see anyone make the money they have without robbing a country. I don’t support what they are doing - but praise where praise is due. They did not inherit this money - it is self Made
@@xy2847 it should be for others to comment, they’re not setting a good example for Muslims are u that thick? My point is is these guys are preaching they’re Islam than I don’t want to follow it as they’re consumed in interest left right and centre.
@@Omares112 I would stop right there and not called me THICK. They are Muslims not Islam. And they don’t preach Islam as they are not preachers. Yes they try and follows the teachings of Islam but they are also astute businessmen. I am not defending them but try and differentiate between someone who preaches and someone who follows the teachings. In the current world, as businessmen in the Western World, they cannot be successful as they are without bank loans and the interest that comes with it. So let them get on with it as they don’t interfere with what you are doing. They might not be good Muslims in every aspect but tell me who is nowadays.
Yes their bugatti is so humbling now they sacked 27 bosses and asda cleaners and now have one staff member doing 27 tasts at one time there pay rise us equivlant to a pay cut. So using people to be this humble.
Worst supermarket for their customers ever and now people are self isolating they Think it’s a good idea to stop home deliveries using carrier bags. So how can the person self isolate when they have to come in contact with the driver? all Asda is interested in is making money were supermarket ever!!
@@xy2847 There is use going there. To prevent our brothers dealing in Haram and incurring the wrath of Allah. May Allah guide them to remove interest from their business and turn them to the straight path
@@alonsomoseley8738 u think they will listen to you and me. Their empire is built on interest based loans so nothing u say or me will change them. May Allah always guide them on the righteous path and all of us. Ameen
@@alonsomoseley8738 they are astute businessmen and u can’t doubt that (what an empire they have built in 19 years). Whether they are ethical businessmen following what is right or wrong according to Islam is another question altogether.
Finally I found someone with the same thinking, went to the shop in Sutton was the worst experience of customers service so rude the staff there there have a worker there who controls the other into doing this .
“O you who believe! Fear Allaah and give up what is still due to you from Ribaa if you are (truly) believers.” (al-Baqarah:278) And then He WARNS us: “And if you do not do it, then take a notice of WAR from Allaah and His Messenger.” [al-Baqarah:279]
i didn’t hear anything about interest in this speech, i found them little bet nervous, speech might be scripted but pit this all things aside just focus on their success, and appreciate their hard work.
I agree - good luck to them. The local boys have done very well indeed. They have shown that you can reach the heights of success with sincere hard work. Interest don’t matter to them - they have massive bank loans but that is how they have been able to make all these acquisitions.
I wouldnt trust these two to sell me a curly wurly!!!!! I mean c'mon!!!!??? You only have to spend a couple of minutes reading up on their past track record running companies. It's abysmal. Shocking in fact! I wouldnt trust these lads to flush a toilet. Good luck Asda...
Asda Manager Hartlepool cares more about his till slaves than protecting customers getting bullied by till operators .He takes their lies against how customer is treated
2 robots reading a script.... Can't they just be themselves and show some charisma... Obviously haven't got any... Worse still, buying asda with the level of debt that it is going to be saddled with for decades or until another buyout... Its the workers and customers who will from these 2 goons thinking they're the next Branson... Just cos they did well with a forecourt business and then used debt again to expand it... Asda has gone downhill since they took over...
