Yup, same voice actresses. Veronica Taylor and Rachael Lillis voice these characters in a similar way to how they voice Ash and Misty. Show: Shichinin no Nana (Seven of Seven)
I knew it was coming. When Rachael Lillis had breast cancer, it was pretty much game over for her earthly life. It is hard to believe that she is gone, but it was the truth. No matter, at least we have Michelle Knotz. I'm grateful that Michelle Knotz will continue her legacy.
@@sojiro856 It's fine. It was time to move from our childhood voice actors anyways. Rachael Lillis' death made me realize that God wants me to move on from my childhood voice actors.
@@GardevoirBoy That is a very dismal and dark way of finding 'positive' in someone actually dying in suffering. Sure, 'move on to new childhood actors', but they don't have to die for you to find others interesting or appealing.
@@PotaraGuy Don't get me wrong, the 4kids Pokémon voice actors are great, it's just that they are overrated. A good example is people's preferred Ash voice. People can get fussy about the new voice cast only because it happens unexpectedly, and they can be too slow to keep up with the changes. This remains true to the Viz Media dub of Sailor Moon for people who grew up watching the DiC, Cloverway, and/or Pioneer dubs of that show. Personally, I like the new cast. These days, people are getting upset that the old 4kids voice actors of Pokémon are getting the short end of the stick. Maddie Blaustein died near the end of 2008 while Rachael Lillis died a day and a month after her 55th birthday.
Here in the land of PAL, we never got that experience since they used British VAs in our version. And also the Japanese character names, for some reason.
I also love how at the beginning when Nanappe is humming the voice is closer to May than Ash, so technically speaking this could also be read as Misty, May and Ash
@@sockpuppet69420 aaaa, so Nanappe has Ash's vocal tone, while regular Nana has more of May's vocal tone, love how they used the fact they are both voiced by Veronica Taylor for this, it makes sense Nanappe would be able to mimic Nana's voice lol, I should really watch this series it looks cool ✨
@@Joyjoy-xr3ed All seven of them are actually voiced by her, each with a different voice, so she's essentially talking to herself for a lot of the show, which is pretty funny. I will say that I personally consider the subbed version to be better, due to large parts of the script being changed in the dub to remove any plot points revolving around Nana learning English, or another character called Melody learning Japanese, and they also rewrote some of the character dialogue for a character that shows up later in the series to make her less likeable, which I think was a mistake. That said, if you really want to see the dubbed version with Taylor and Lillis, the dub is still worth a watch in my opinion.
"But you see, this camera is my life." "GET YOURSELF A NEW LIFE!" The OG series will always hold a special place in my heart. R.I.P Recheal Lillis 🕊️ 😞
@@SkylineGuy We all want to wish that age is just a number but sometimes we have to deal with people dying young. As much as you'll hate me for saying this, it's the truth. Yes, cancer doesn't have to be the end of a person's life, but sometimes you'll have to deal with it. As much as we hate dealing with reality, and you'll hate me for saying this comment, it is the truth. God doesn't want people to live forever on earth. When we have fulfilled what God wanted us to do, that's when say goodbye to our life on Earth.
Ngl, this single clip made me decide to go check out the anime and tbh it was pretty good. I hope this series could maybe have a reboot but that’s a wishful thinking.
Back in my younger days anime was scarce, and pokemon was the only time I got to hear these voices, right up until the recasting. Now I can't help but wonder what I missed out on.
I'd say till we meet again but the BS from living life is enough to not wish that on anyone. Rest well and may you reach your fated destination in peace.
Rachael and Veronica are definitely the Lennon/McCartney of their craft. When they were together it was pure magic, and they fed off each other so well. RIP Rachael, thank you a million times over
@@akiraevangelionultimateali5199 Well I can't explain it, but Funimation doesn't give me fond memories as much as 4kids! Sure the company made dumb decisions with dubbing (especially ONE PEICE), but I gotten used to it.
@@tarikkash4282 Yes. We all want to wish that age is just a number, but unfortunately, it is not always the case. You'll be mad at me saying life is short, but it is the truth.
@@tarikkash4282 She was the childhood voice actress for many of us, that's for sure. I feel sorry for you and the other people who grew up watching Pokémon and hearing this woman's voice. I knew her death was coming, so it's no wonder why many people are upset and confused that Rachael Lillis is dead.
@@GardevoirBoy She wasn't just Misty and Jessie, she was also Princess Charlotte from Berserk, Reese Drake from Dino King, Utena from RGU and even Iru and Adena's Nursemaid from Yugioh! She truly was a great voice actress and a great human!
