Family Guy Oddly Specific Relatable Jokes A compilation of Family Guy cutaway gags and jokes that are weirdly specific and relatable. Thanks for watching and subscribe for more funny moments!
I’m starting to think that Family Guy would really benefit from being a compilation of shorts because no one cares about Family Guy’s plot. Family Guy storylines aren’t interesting anymore and it feels like Seth only puts effect into American Dad, which honestly American Dad is the best animated show he has created so far.
That Saran wrap scene was probably the easiest joke they ever had to write because there is definitely not a single person on this earth who hasn’t experienced that before 😂
I think the only unrealistic part for me is how hard it was to tear it off lol. For me it tears off easily, but trying to get it to stick to the plate by tucking it under is a pain.
@artslife4424 it's not that he looks like Tobey maguire but that they had a similar trajectory in their career, just less successful for the other two
Oh my god. 3:08 Is EXACTLY how my family's yearly phone call to my half deaf grandfather was at Christmas time.
As someone who stays in cheap motels on vacation, I have literally has the same conversation about orange juice that doesn’t really taste like orange juice and yoghurts in sizes you didn’t know exist.
The oj is over half apple juice is why. If you look at a lot of juice in stores, apple juice is the main ingredient. Because it's cheap, and sweet so they don't have to add much extra sugar.
It wasn't even the napkins blowing away that did it for me. It's the fact that he describes it happening as he's pulling them out, then just lets it happen.
Honestly, when Peter said “that’ll be $16.” And the dude was like, “That’s expensive.” Now that we’re in 2024, it feels like eating out for $16 is a bargain! 😢 💸
Pro tip for plastic wrap users: go to a restaurant supply store and get a 12" commercial sized plastic wrap meant for restaurant usage (or order it online). You probably won't need to buy plastic wrap for 10 years, and it unrolls, and cuts 1000x easier than grocery store garbage. I've had mine since November 2019 and it's still going strong
3:55 this bit was clearly only made to fill the run time, but it’s still so relatable for anyone who’s ever used Saran Wrap.
My local theater is over twenty minutes, with more than ten commercials, three in a row which are soda ads (diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and something I'd never herd of called Starry), then the countless coming attractions. I've learned to show up in line to buy my ticket and popcorn at the scheduled start time, which still leaves me a few extra minutes after using the restroom.
@@RichBoyRazMy guess is they also are doing plenty of other stuff at the same time. I think i sound rather simmilar when people start asking me questions while im already in the middle of something.
that joke at 3:08 is relate to the fact I always hear my mother having this same kind of conversation when she calls my grandma and it never not funny
Why do companies even create animated logos that look like they would belong to a movie? Just show your company in a way that isn't misleading. It's not that hard.
The only flaw in the joke is, how did Peter not know what movie he was going to see, because he acts like it’s a complete mystery lol. Maybe Brian wanted it to be a surprise and had him wear a blindfold before walking in that’s the best answer I can think of lol 😂
Conway Twitty cutaways were notorious for being the entire song but they actually served three purposes: 1. To fill up runtime 2. It works on a meta level because the songs are meant to serve as a distraction, so when the song ends and it cuts back to the show, you've been so caught up in the song, it kind of "jolts" you back into the flow of the episode 3. Seth MacFarlane did it as a subtle "fuck you" to FOX because it costs a lot of money to get permission to use Conway Twitty's songs, so he'd blow FOX's budget each time the crew used the cutaway gag Eventually the joke hit its peak in the episode where Peter and friends reunite with God, who points out the laziness of the Conway Twitty gag and insists they just write a joke instead. As far as I know, the show hasn't used the joke since.
2:45 Pilots do that because they have multiple things grabbing their attention at the same time, including communications from air traffic controllers, pilots of other planes communicating over the radio, and monitoring instrument panels
The plastic wrap one was so funny because he was just like "sigh, ohh, grunt, anger anger, blow air at the wrap, sigh, sigh, anger, almost punch yourself in the face, gives up.
I had tears, in my eyes with the plastic wrap portrayal! 😂😂😂 He forgot the small piece that comes easy then that the only part that unwraps, cutting into the next layer and the next.
It was season 9 and the stating point of the widescreen episodes you guys are comparing modern day netflix with this joke it's like guys this all in the far past...
@@ladylalaboo He also by all accounts seems very easy going and pleasant, leto on the other hand was sending used condoms and snakes to costars while filming 'suicide squad'.
I think this why I love family guy, The relatable instances that you wonder if anyone else really notices or cares about, or if you're just doing life wrong. The too hard butter one got me.
The only con is if you have a bunch of plates wrapped up in aluminum foil and you’re looking for this one specific dish, but then you end up ripping open other dishes that are not the one you’re looking for and then you re-wrap the ones you open.
I worked temporarily at a fruit bouquet company. They had a sewer grate they'd open up and let ventilate right by the open vat of chocolate sauce they'd use to dip fruits in. My family swore to never order one of those things after that.
3:55-5:45 so soul crushingly relatable. I used to work in restaurants and I hated using Saran Wrap.
She was gross. A dried up clam. Norman did MUCH better and at least on several episodes they (she) described herself as middle aged...I guess that's correct since she looked like something from the middle ages...
That's the strange thing about Family Guy, sometimes they have a very specific joke that will absolutely not relate with a handful of people but are specific enough to know it comes from a personal place in the writers' heart
3:55 this is why I use Tupperware for the tinier or more runny foods and “parchment paper” for the larger foods. 6:33 I used to work at Target, this is so true/funny.
The plastic wrap joke is why I’ve begun to just default to plastic, lockable Tupperware dishes. Slap that shit into a little plastic box, put the correctly-sized lid on it, clamp down the locks on the sides, and we golden. That and it feels more environmentally friendly. Reusable plastic dishes instead of single-use plastic sheets.
I much agree, Mrs. Princess. If we're gonna be using plastic, we'd better use it in ways that we know are gonna last and can clearly be recycled, right?
You know, Family Guy's really good at keeping a joke going until it's not funny anymore, and then striking again when it raps back around to the sheer commitment being funny
Like when he falls and hurts his knee and says "ahhhhh' over and over. It feels like it lasts 5 minutes of just that, as if they were trying to see just how uncomfortable and exasperated they could make the audience.
The opening logo bit makes so much sense especially with indie movies nowadays. I saw “Late Night With The Devil” in theaters and the opening logos took up over a minute of time. There were EIGHT logos in total. EIGHT. And they STILL somehow couldn’t afford an actual artist for the transitional images.
i really love these very specific jokes and cutaways, it's always been more memorable to me than the weird edgy and gratuitously gorey jokes (and this is coming from a horror fan lol)
I would say the three that relate to me the most are the Saran wrap, restaurant bread and butter, and the breakfast buffet. Can somebody explain the last one, the Jared Leto one, and the Providence tour guide one?
5:56 - 6:29 The opening credits of Late Night With The Devil
I clicked specifically for the plastic wrap segment. Way too accurate. Why most of my family still insists on using it is annoying. And don't worry, there's always that one person who just shows up, and can just swiftly and seamlessly unroll, slice and place it and it actually fucking sticks perfectly, until the moment you touch it, and it NEVER will cling again. I didn't expect the segment to be so long though hahaha
holy sh*t, I was not expecting such a cartoony looking frown from peter. man only ever got that mad at cling wrap 4:40
$16 for a burger of some kind, what looks like french toast sticks, and a large soda? $16 is what the burger alone costs near me. $4 for a soda, and probably like $7 for french toast sticks.
5:47 Literally the beginning of Late Night with the Devil. People actually began chuckling after the 5th production company logo 😂
