Asha and Star(boy) first meeting || WISH fan storyboard/animatic 

Shape-shifting starboy would have been a win-win. Disney gets marketable plushies, we get a cute love story and fanart material.

BEST REIMAGINING I’VE EVER SEEN!!!! The Princess and The Frog-esque “kissed a small creature and it became a pretty boy” along with the overall alien vibes of the Starboy are just… UGH, SO GOOD!! Chef’s kiss, would watch this movie!

This transformation had all the charm and majesty of both classic Disney (Pinocchio, Cinderella, etc.) and Modern/Revival Disney (Frozen, Tangled) and it was well done! Perfect for the idea of what Wish would be in the early concepts! And interesting that Asha knows magic too!

This concept would've been so much better than the actual movie.

I love how Asha flinged star because that's what the princess in the frog king did (the original fairytail)

- Princess and the frog-esk transformation kiss - Him turning human like Beauty and the Beast - Her poking him after knocking him out like Rapunzel when she met Eugene - Leaves frozen mid-air like the snowflakes when Elsa thought Anna was dead in Frozen - And Starboy's transformation from a glowing blob and with a beam of light reminded me of Kida from Atlantis

If Disney hadn't skipped the love story between Asha and the Starboy, and the evil villain couple, Magnifico and Amaya, then I would have absolutely LOVED "Wish"!!! 😭💔💢

They have more personality here, the expressions and the actions are more expressed in this animatic than the whole movie. I’ll wait for the next part ahaha

I LOVE this!! It’s so cute and creative, I also love the touch that Asha knew magic, it would make sense since she wanted to be the assistant to Magnifico that she was already practicing.

Maybe is just me but, the transformation of Starboy remind me so much of Atlantis where Kira transformed into her beautiful energy blue self 🥹

Brilliant! It is wonderful to have a homage to classic fairy tales with a kiss that turned star into a human boy. It is also good that Asha knows magic and that conects them two together.

Love it! Love it! Love it! I love Asha's design and personality in this. She exudes the soft, tender kindness of the classics, but also the wit and attitude of the Renaissance/Revival eras. Her lines to Valentino made me laugh, especially the "I think I hit him too hard" line. Val and Star, despite not talking other than with noises, also have so much more personality. Love her being a mage hidden in the hamlet within the forest too.

I absolutely adore Asha's design and you give her so much personality in such a short clip. She feels like a real girl. I wanna watch a whole movie with these characters and this premise ❤

AHHH THIS IS SO AMAZING AND CUTE???!? Poor Starboy got yeeted and then slapped 😭😭 Not blaming Asha though I too would freak out if there's a sentient ball of light with a face and a glowing man GRIPPING my arm like that 💀

Wow, you drew them so beautifully! I’ve never seen a version where they aren’t immediately starstruck by one another, and I actually like that Starboy acts completely alien, while Asha is kind but has her guard up, and immediately stops the situation from going on any longer. This is such an interesting take, and their rocky start would make their later closeness feel much more earned.

this is amazing!!! to me, when valentino tried to stop asha from going near star boy, it looked like the scene when jasmine is escaping and rajah tries to stop her. i don't know if that was intentional reference but i really liked it.

I follow you on twitter and absolutely loved seeing this in storyboard form - you did SUCH a good job animating it! Absolutely love the take on the magical kiss transforming him - it reminds me of Maleficent and Princess and the Frog where it's a twist on a classic fairy tale! Also I've said it before, but I'm obsessed with your star boy design - I love that we get the best of both worlds, cute plushie star and full form star! Though I will say when his eyes shot open I did get jumpscared a bit lol, despite knowing what was going to happen lol. Amazing job, I can't wait to see what you do next (and would love to see more of your Wish ideas!)

I loved seeing Star being even more tender than in the same movie, and how he later transformed into a prince seemed shocking and striking to me; and I'm surprised that they already got to the point, without filler and without excuses, already in the main focus of the Star Boy

This is SO GOOD! Your art style is beautiful and I loved the character designs. Not to mention the actual storyboarding was AMAZING, it was super interesting and it left me wanting more, absolutely wonderful job.

Just imagine the beautiful love story these two could of had if they got a chance. From two completely different worlds. But in the end, it wasn't meant to be, as the boy returns to the stars...after giving the love of his life a wand imbued with his magic - so they can still be connected.

I love the Frog king reference with the throwing included! I think the second slap might be a bit much though. Maybe make him confused or scared for suddenly having 5 fingers and long legs and make him fall clumsy, giving her the chance to appear a bit kinder?

I'm currently working on a third one where the main couple, with their friends and family, go up against an evil vampire sorcerer who cursed the prince with vamprirsm, turned over almost over half of the kingdom of Draxton (the kingdom's name) into vampire slaves, taking over said kingdom, and outlawing the royal family, the princess (whom he denounces as a witch because of superstition, anger, and lust), and Aster, who's his adopted brother whom he tortures in public, and in secret, almost kills, but is saved by Asha both times. I'm still currently working on it and I'm really excited to finish😍😍😍😁😁😁!

Idk why part of me wishes for Disney to just re-make it, but with these concepts actually in the movie Thank you for making this, it really is lovely, the character designs, the animation, the flow of the story. Everything about this from the characterizations , to the dialogue, to the magical transformation (which was absolutely incredible! wow! I’ve only seen shape shifting takes so far) and art style/designs is so reminiscent of the Renaissance age. The atmosphere and story you created here is so impressive! If you have any other Wish related projects in the future, I’ll be here. Little note: not enough people are talking about how you characterized Star Boy and Val so well with zero dialogue. Him getting upset (stopping the tickle is my favorite part 😭) and Val trying to stop Asha by grabbing her skirt are so underrated

I think it’s cool to show that not every princess needs a prince… but again it’s been AGES since we last got one. I mean, I’m pretty sure the latest one was Kristoff(unless I’m wrong)
