Yes, it had so much potential!! I still haven’t seen the movie, actually, because it just doesn’t look good. The villain alone makes me cringe, unlike the awesome villains we’ve had in the past

The disadvantage of that means we get no singing Star (unless he only has a voice at that point) and Star's comedic personality keeps up the "comedic mute" trope seen with Dopey, Tinker Bell, and Ariel.

True. The character of the "straight man" is one of the core concepts of comedy too. (For those who don't know, nothing sexual in that. The "Straight man" refers to the character in comedy who is not amused by the situation. He's also most times the butt of the joke. For instance, in Laurel and Hardy, Laurel is the bubbly, innocent and clumsy character while Hardy is the straight man who often suffers from Laurel's clumsiness.)

You know what I think would've been cool? Dalhia mentions how Asha isn't 18 yet. Imagine if it was her time for the ceremony, but refused to give up her wish.

@@FlashQuatsch Story-wise, that shouldn't be an issue. If I recall correctly, it's not a requirement to give up your wish; just something everyone wants to do. Given how stressed Magnifico is about people pressuring him about it, I don't think he'd care.

@@OpticalSorcerer yeah they would have to change the story for that to work. Something like Asha being the first one to refuse, like she is the first one to question Magnífico in the movie (that we know of).

@@FlashQuatsch I think that's one of the worst things about the OG film; the lack of acknowledging responsibility. While Magnifico was the main villain, he never MADE anyone give him their wishes, and he even mentions that people come to him because the work to achieve their dreams is too hard. Yet at the end of the film, they say "hey, let's stop trusting Magnifico and work hard for our own wishes"--even though that was their own fault. Magnifico makes good points that are undermined because of his random descent into villainy.

If Disney had stuck to their original idea, Starboy could have easily taken the number 1 spot in any and all future Disney Prince popularity polls. Simply because he would have been the most dynamic and interesting male lead to come out in decades.

Well, there’s this animation RU-vidr named PinkieMachine Studios who’s remaking the movie and having it go by the title “Alicia and the Kingdom of Starlight”. She has storyboards posted and has been working on it with a team. I think it’s going to be relatively 2D animated.

Riight! 😭 There were hundreds of ways to make this movie better! Star could have been Star Boy's pet or simply just a form of his. The possibilities are literally endless!

Honestly, I think they should've've made a compromise by making the little "Star" be one of Starboy's transformations.

That's because I reworked my Jack Frost model I made a few years ago to become Star Boy! And yess, it was completely intentional 😂 I saw people saying how Disney lost its opportunity to have its own Jack Frost and agreed with them with all my heart 😭 I also tried to put some Peter Pan and the concepts as well into him
