Your information about the great singer is based on twisted facts, having no ground in reality. What a load of prejudiced gibberish. Glorifying one sister and belittling the other in the bargain. As for the number of recordings, please get your facts right that the Guinness Book Record of 25,000 songs was one which was conceived by the corrupt Raju Bharatan and propagated thereafter by the equally unscrupulous HMV cadre. The tally was fictitious to say the least. With the publication of Harminder Singh's scholarly Geet Kosh volumes, the cat was finally out of the bag and it so came to light that it was Ashaji who held the distinction of recording the most songs in the world, having outnumbered the undeniably great Lataji in her most prolific decade of the 50s, Mohammad Rafi Saab in the 60s, Kishore Kumar in the 70s and every other performing artiste in the 80s and thereafter. The diva's tally exceeds 13,000, where as Lataji's stands somewhere around 7,500 or more. This is documented fact. When the same was brought to the knowledge of the Guinness authorities, pandemonium followed and the 25,000 entry was removed immediately. Ashaji had nothing to do with the same. Her name appeared in the Guiness Book when facts, figures and numbers were presented to the authorities and it was perhaps their way of remeding a grave injustice to the rightful recipient of the title of the World's most recorded vocalist. Today we are told the honour belongs to P Susheela from the South. Lataji was and Ashaji is a living legend. Neither need cheap gimmicks such as the Guinness Book fraud nor low down remarks such as yours to present their respective cases in a befitting manner. Ashaji is nearing 90. Learn to address and refer to your elders with respect, if nothing else and ask yourself whether your achievement or stature, or lack of both thereof, gives you the right to pass judgement on situations you know nothing about. Grow up kiddo!
