Lade So I find it very stupid & hilarious of those people who make claims about an artist or artists in the music industry having "sold out" for whatever reason it may be. Like wtf is that supposed to mean, really?! It's quite obvious they don't know what they're talking about or know even a small shred about entertainment. So, I disagree with those who claim ashanti or any artist has "sold out". I do agree tho with what a lot of people are saying on how she's trying to be like Beyonce, but I do understand it. Ashanti is doing whatever she can to gain attention from the viewers, to become relevant again, in a Beyonce dominated industry. Beyonce clearly runs the music game & has been for the past 10 to 11 years now. Ashanti is just trying to become relevant & remain relevant through her image and dance, that we all have already seen from big name artists. The only issue with that is, she's sucking really bad at it and it doesn't come across as genuine. That story you told is more Beyonce's story. Bey didn't really let her freak side out till now cause she wasn't ready for the world to see that side of her 17 yrs ago. Irv gotti put ashanti on & made sure to make her hot, sexy, freaky and everything else to break records, sales. ashanti will never be the hot artist she once was, cause she no longer has Irv in her corner. He made her & ashanti's name blown up in lights. That ashanti will never be seen again & I do hope people realize that.

mJenkinsyumyum we have similar views on this, but to add to it I will say that everything and everyone has it's time and season in the music industry. Ashanti had her time, now its Beyonce's time, and im sure when years from now when I have kids there's going to be someone else dominating the music industry. It's defiantly a different time and season now. Coz trust and believe half of the so called R&B music society listen to know would not have been accepted in the 50's-90's. Coz back in those days you actually had to be able to sing and people were quick to call you out if you couldn't really sing. Now the 'fans' are walking on eggshells and buying autotune albums they know the artist won't be able to perform live coz that artist can't actually sing. I'm just being honest ;-)

Lade So I agree with some of the things you said & also believe we share similar views, but I would like to add, it has been Beyonce season going on 13 years now & it doesn't look like she will be slowing down anytime soon.
