Secrets seem to have the wrong timeframe Should be: *Secret 1* 0:47 *Secret 2* 0:58 *Secret 3* 13:26 Thanks for finding Secret 2 by the way, couldn't find that one anywhere
By the way upgraded crossbow is better than pistol in the stealth section of this level. Crossbow is silent not the explosive arrows one, only the regular I’m looking forward to green line and the mall they probably my favorite maps from this set
That Crossbow, man the sound it makes is brutal, and the 'twap' sound it makes when it lets loose a bolt is really good sound design on their part. It feels impactful. After playing the other Ashes games, I was wondering when they were going to implement a bow and arrow type of weapon. As it fits the theme of the Post Apocalypse so well. That when civilization fails, the old classic weapons make a return. Great vid.
Crossbow sound reminds me of the BAR firing sound from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. I would compare them myself but i don't have acceptable headphones
The crossbow also does way more damage than I expected, about the same damage as the lever action, and the bolts are plentiful when fighting against black water gang. I find it's a better stealth weapon on the hardest difficulty than the pistol as enemy has more health, but crossbow still oneshots every human enemy.
I saved just after killing the first 2 guards in the apartments optional stealth section and one of them shot once. Doc still says hes got your back but his group just run away when bullets start flying and the General rails on you in the next mission. Made me restart the whole run.
From what I read on modbb and doomworld, this bug has something to do with the level of difficulty. Update: I managed to complete this level correctly. Unfortunately, I have no idea what made it work. Therefore, I can only give a few assumptions. 1. I played on Standard difficulty 2. I passed stealth only with a crossbow. 3. At 8:59 you can see the fence behind which the NPCs are walking, I didn't notice from the battle that they were on the side of the player, and therefore I killed them. And only during the replay i realized the mistake. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that these assumptions will work, as I myself did not fully understand how it worked.
I remember provoking raiders to hit soldiers sitting near the start of the map, then gather enough bolts to breeze through level with free bolts. Even with ammo saved for other guns there were moments of ammo shortages later. 15:58 wait, that was Doc? I though it was boss minion and sold him bolt, woops. Such is life in the wastes.
Hey man, loving the content, saves me a lot of headache :D One suggestion tho, it would be very helpful if you could mark in the video the moment where you actually find a secret, maybe with a quick glance on the map Thanks again for your work
Yea. When i played this game, i expected some kind of talk your way out option/ charisma or just giving your gun. Ive put like an hour to this level to see if theres othe options but no. The best one is doc murphys path
Yep stealth is probably just not the way DOOM is meant to be played. I thought not getting the silenced pistol meant my run was screwed but turns out it's not all that helpful either.
kinda. it is like fallout and stalker but doesn't feature every mechanic from both games, like your character doesn't need an upgrade like how you have s.p.e.c.i.a.l in fallout. but there is a dialogue system where you can also do some side quests just like fallout
Yes. Normally i come here when i'm stuck in a dosjank level but this gameplay is so interesting I am watching to decide if i should get it also. And I just got stuck in a fire station in redneck rampage so i'll be back later to see what i did wrong
I don't get it, when I tried to kill them silently everyone always wakes up and gang up on me, even with the silencer or just by crowbar. I just don't get how to do this section with stealth.
@@Ghrail Just as I fire the first bullet to one of the two first raiders, they all wakes up, the ones behind the closed gate. Something weird is that the other one didn't move but they did. They always react to a single gunshot and I don't get why.
@@pagb666 I don't get it, why when you shot the first goons the ones behind the closed gate didn't react ? They always react with me and the stealth is impossible.
Do you know if there's any way to do this level peacefully? I remember thinking that I missed it on my first playthrough, but my second playthrough made it seem like there isn't one. *edit* Ok, so it looks like I missed something that makes the medic guy join your fight, even though I found the dude in the tower and went through the door that the medic opens. Maybe I killed too many of the guys? The boss didn't have the dialogue option about the dude he had killed.
Standard mode is bugged out (which Vos knows) and will constantly assume you did the violent option even if you didn’t. Other modes like survival and apocalypse work
AshesHR map08: The Green Line There are 4 secrets which i can only find 3: - Collapsed Rail way ground with Mutated Dog horde, secret is a hole below ctrl room right side after you jump from INSIDE train to opposite cliff. - End of track reaching station of mirroring automatic stairs, the train with medicals and between the walls are 2 pipe bombs. - Demon Band mall with Red key, there is a ground vent opposite the red curtain in a corner leads to a treasure.
13:45 This is a strange encounter. If you just hide and wait, the enemies will take damage when they enter the room and die for no apparent reason. Might get fixed in a patch.
I totally messed this one up lmao. Got the key from the doctor, got in a gun fight, the entire map came alive to kill me. Even the doctor came after me with a chainsaw. Or maybe he was trying to help me, idk. I killed him and everyone else, and the general got all mad about it. Whatever. I got all the secrets and kills
I'm not stoked about the voice acting 😔 a guy named Murphy with a slavic accent ... yeah whatever, not the weirdest thing I've ever eaten, but this is too much like stalker for my taste. Also I'm assuming that the voice work and dialogue windows are among the 13 DECORATE scripts my antique rig can't handle 😑
Is there a way to not turn Luka's encounter into a fight?. It seems to me that a dialog with multiple choices would imply different outcomes. And i get berated by the general for choosing a violent path. But i have been trying the opposite and been stuck in a corner.
When I was playing afterglow, I always thought "black water" was titan stim since it "makes you superhuman", titan stim is the only item in the game fits that description.
