Hard Reset is here! The prequel to Ashes: Afterglow boasts 14 new levels, new enemies, new weapons, new music... all you could want and more. This time around we get a more linear adventure like in 2063, but don't worry, the more rpg/hub based goodness from Afterglow will be back in episode 3.

Wow. These purple-blooded parasitic worm-things are something new... and honestly scary. 😳 Aaand the level boss is something. I couldn't hear what he was saying, but it sounded like the hellish voice from Doom 2016...

That's one of the best maps in this episode, scary, interesting. There was shopping malls in earlier episodes too, Vostok truly can do wonders with gameplay on those maps.

@DarkKenny90 They were shown in the trailer, they all turn their head to look at you, but don't seem to just be controlled by the worms like the "normal" moving ones

The Pinky in Afterglow didn't get me at all, but with how tense I was waiting for whatever scare was obviously going to drop with the mannequins, I freaked out so bad this time around

You can cheese the hammer fight by going back down the elevator shaft that you climbed up to get to the arena, he can still hook you but he will not be able to pull you all the way up

Press use at the figurine to take it, worth a bit of cash. Next map only have 1 secret in a ruined building of raider area. Walk on the 2nd to last plank between building and look right

@@vostyok6030 If you had to choose, who would you say wins in a 1v1 between Walker and the main Scav? I get that Walker can soak up more damage, but somehow I feel more lethal when playing the main Scav

1:52 Pressure Plates??? Holy shit, I would have never gotten that one. I was pouring over that map trying to figure out how to do it properly. Though the rewards is lackluster for just how well hidden that secret is.

I got a bit bored during the 2nd Ashes game (Afterglow) and kinda stopped playing half way. It didn't have the same good pacing as the 1st game and kinda started dragging in the middle. What do you think of this 3rd entry? Is it paced better over-all? Is it worth for me to go back and finish the 2nd game and play this too?

No one but you can say if it's worth for you. I can understand the issue with afterglow, I myself found the second hub to be big for the sake of being big and not for a good reason, but the ending stage was worth chugging through it. As for HR, it is structured like 2063 and the maps are small and packed, but it has a feeling of being under cooked. It's worth a try if you like ashes, at least.

@@DarkKenny90 Oh good. this is exactly the kind of answer I was looking for. Just knowing the 3rd act in Afterglow will get better will make me get through the middle part. It sucks to abandon games because they drag in the middle. and good to know the 3rd one is more like the 1st. Definitely looking forward to that one. I'm one of the people who played Daikatana back in the day, past the initial swamp intro, and found out much of the rest of the game was very cool for the time. Aside from the bad A.I. companions, the Viking snow section, 2030 future San Francisco, and 2455 future Japan sections beyond the swamp area were actually very cool. Much of the game had good design at least from a level design perspective. I only didn't care for the ancient Greece parts and of course the initial swamp segment. I'm glad I got past that and enjoyed a game which many never did because they immediately abandoned it ;p Thanks for the info DarkKenny

I kinda liked Afterglow the best, but then I'm a big fan of old-style RPG-games like Fallout (1 and 2) and such.

@@Redflacket AG last stage > 2063 > AG first hub > AG second hub That's my opinion on ashes, the second hub of afterglow was too big, the thing I remember most from it was the biodome stage and how I just wanted it to end. The submarine secret stage was great though.

@@DarkKenny90 My favourite was the first hub of Afterglow, and some of the interim stages (Badlands, Array). Agreed about the Biodome. I would usually play up untill the Biodome, then jump ahead a couple of stages (idclev xx cheat).
