I’m so glad that behind-the-batsman shot was abandoned! Also, shame about the picture quality; I remember it being perfectly watchable at the time.

I still remember that test to this day. It's a shame the picture quality isn't good because the way he swung the ball then was something to behold.

As a young Spratt in nz I listened to this bowling spell on the radio in the middle of the night when I should have been studying for school exams (or sleeping).

Should have played more games ... especially in England.

Ellison should've played more tests than he did, a decent swing bowler, probably didn't have enough pace to make a lasting career, but there were worse bowlers around.
