Ashes of Love is one of my favorite xianxia, despite it being a few years old. The storyline, character development, the romance, ost, you name it…IT’S ALL THERE. I laughed and cried, all my emotions during my rewatch. I’ve forgotten how much I ❤️ this drama, having my heart broken and twisted. 😭 Their love was so strong that it can defy fate and overcome everything but had to pay a heavy price for their happy ending.
As for Run Yu, I don’t agree with what he did. We can see Run Yu’s character was wonderfully made in this drama. He didn’t just turn to evil out of nowhere, everything had a reason and was built step by step which made me hate what he did yet I could pity him at the same time.
I couldn’t decide on which OST to use on this edit, so decided to use both. Hope everyone enjoys the music: “Unsullied” 不染 and “Upwards to the Moon” 左手指月. Special thanks to @AirahTea for making these two great covers and letting me use them in this edit. Before I found her covers, I was halfway through the edit, but I decided to redo the whole video around her two covers. Her vocals are so AMAZING.
