It appears that batsmen in that era preferred hooking spinners as opposed to the modern trend of sweeping them. Another interesting feature (2nd test) is the presence on 3 left armers in the Australian attack. I doubt if that happened again until NZ fielded Allot, O’Connor & Vettori in the late 90s

How can Davidson have 2 leg slips and a backward short leg bowling to Richardson? I thought after bodyline that you couldnt have 2 fielders behind square on the leg side??
Fabulous highlights. We went to Australia with a really strong team on paper, but were thrashed 4-0. Great to see what a fine cricketer Richie Benaud was too, as well as being that amazing broadcaster.
