Barrty looks small and nice but she is a real champin and fighter. She is really good and it wouldnt surprise me if she can defend almost all points from this season.
Comparing Bencic to Hingis is such an insult to Martina Hingis. A few of their strokes are slightly similar, but that's about it. Hingis is way more intelligent. I don't watch any Bencic matches thinking that I'm seeing a flashback of Hingis out on the court. Barty is all class, but Bencic is so unlikable. Her massive ego and "come-ons" when opponents miss... Barty might not be the most exciting person, but she's humble and talented. I hope she does well.
She's not in the same league talent wise. There are some similarities in the forehand and serve, and they both rely on great stroke production and footwork rather than raw power, but Hingis was way, way better.
Bencic was coached by Hingis' mother, maybe you should have educated yourself because you are coming across as not very bright by bashing people who are aware enough to it- most people never called Bencic a carbon copy just a similar style. Andrew Mark I’m aware of that but the commentators should also be aware that their commentary will only ever be preserved in abridged format in RU-vid. The solution is still the same: stop using pronouns and just say names, even if just first name. It’s like in the old days when Venus and Serena would play each other and some commentators would says Williams did this or that: It doesn’t help and you prevent problems by adopting a convention from the start to just use names.

Barty didn’t play her best but still beat on form firing Bencic . Barty hit 20 unforce errors in that first set and only 4 unforce errors in the second set and 5 unforce errors in the third set

Can someone please tell me why the WTA LIVE RANKINGS have not updated the “next points” and “maximum points”? This is the second day of the tournament. This is very annoying and should be updated the day before the tournament or before the tournament starts.

I disagree. Barty seems very humble and doesn't to fazed about marketing herself too much to get more money or supporters. She's a very likeable kind player and I think she'll get the right supporters that way. Even the players respect her due to her due to her great attitude.
In the business of tennis, becoming World No.1 was a pretty good move by Barty. Anyway, being tennis crazy Australia's fav and best player means she's guaranteed huge support.
