The Master Buddy MacMaster and Ashley MacIsaac are stunning to see perform together. I saw them together, I believe at Glendale, years ago, and they were stunning. They are both marvellous fiddle players.
i was at the show, and it was one of the greatest moments of my life..... best concert ive ever seen, i know ill never forget it , i remember standing in line for the ticekts early in the morning me and my friends were one of the first ones in the line up.....
Fantastic!! I used to play these tunes many moons ago, and this brought it all back!! Will have to dig out my Ashley MacIsaac cassette from the loft, dust it off and have a boogie! ha ha
hey everyone i decided to remove a certain negative comment on here b'cuz it doesn't reflect in any way what this little video is about...which is capturing a damn fine performance from two exceptionally gifted musicians on a night which was one of my all time favorite experiences music-wise. the person who wrote "he plays them like he owns them" was bang on. anyone there that night will attest that there was something magical in the air. J.W. said meeting buddy/seeing him play was profound.
@MrVinniemac46 Couldn't agree more...i'm a Bluenoser in Califonia and nothing makes me pine for home like hearing some Ashley MacIsaac. Mind you I'd kill for a Keith's as well..... ;-)
Yeah I remember hearing a clip someone posted online several years ago where Buddy (or someone) did a radio interview or called into a radio station and was bragging about how he was related to Jack White, Ashley MacIsaac, and a few other people through great uncle so and so...it was pretty funny.
I'm a cameraman by trade, but why would anyone try to sneak a monopod into a concert? I'd glad he was able to get a normal camcorder in! Ashley MacIsaac and White Stripes in one night? What a show!
i'd say ne one who can play like ashley isn't fucked in the head, and damn it's talent, everytune he plays no matter how traditional they are he plays them like he owns them! and the tunes are miss lyall's strathspey king george, kings reel and etc... probly the most popular way to play that set
hey Ashley, great to see you posting here. First time I've seen the video of you and Buddy. Class act man! :-) Look forward to seeing you during Celtic Colors - are you in CB during the summer or working on the road? w
What are the tunes that make up this set? There's King George the IV, Miss Lyall's Reel and Strathspey, I think... but the other ones? Can someone help me out?
hmmm -so quick to criticize... i presume you are the supreme being of video taking. by the way - neither was i stomping or clapping but the balcony on which i was seated was shaking so much it overcame the cruddy 'steady hand' feature on my little hand-held digital camera. thanks for the advice though, i will write it ten times in my homework book so i wont forget next time.
Dizzying? You must have really bad eyes if you found it THAT bad! I thought it was just fine! P.S. It looks like Ashley's wearing yellow crocs, haha :)
This video camera person needs to learn to use a monopod or steady the camera on something stable it is dizzying to try to watch...better with eyes shut. good music though...and nice pants. By all means do not clap or stomp your feet while trying to take a video!
