Demo song written by Ashley Parker Angel and Jacob Underwood during Season 1 of "Making The Band" (2000).
"Making the Band" was an ABC/MTV reality television series created by Lou Pearlman, the man responsible for the formation of the Backstreet Boys and the early management of *NSYNC. It started on March 25, 2000 on ABC. Pearlman embarked on a nationwide talent search, cutting auditions in eight cities down to 25 young men, and eventually eight finalists. These eight young men would, as the premise for a new ABC reality show, compete for five spots in Pearlman's newest boy band creation named "O-Town", to be signed to his record label, Transcontinental Records. The five guys who became O-Town were: Ashley Parker Angel, Jacob Underwood, Dan Miller, Erik-Michael Estrada and Trevor Penick.

The real f'd up thing about the music industry is the big honcho's make their decisions swiftly and without much thought and squash so many potentially great songs. Like this one. I guarantee it'd have been a hit if they were allowed to put it on the first record. Also in all honesty, this song is quite possibly the true sound of O-Town rather than the one produced by the boy band maker.

Has no one been able to coax the songwriting notes from these boys, or better yet had them record the whole thing? I'm really tempted to start a GoFundMe to incentivize this if we could confirm that there's something out there to dig up. From my own experience songwriting it sounds like they took it pretty far, I have to believe that the lyrics are complete even if they never finalized an arrangement. It's been almost 20 years and I still have the .wav file I made from recording it on VHS all those years ago, still making me smile when it surfaces in random walks through my library... I REALLY need to know what they did for a bridge in this song before I die. Perhaps it's just the prolonged anticipation, but I have this sense that it was genius-level.

It's crazy to read this comment...I still have the tape from all those years ago. I was shocked that they put the effort into featuring this demo on the show but not have it on the album. This leads me to believe that there is a complete version of the song even if its just a rough mix. I've been longing to hear it since 2000. One day...One day.

That's just sad! Why wouldn't they release this, because its slow paced and heart felt? All the crazed little girls like I was at that time/still am for them (lol), would have adored this song even more than some of the other ones that were on their 2 albums. I LOVE O-TOWN :)
