Shade was forced into a starting position early in the season, and quickly filled the roll of Azzi Fudd, becoming UConn’s sharpshooter. The future is bright for this young star.
Ashlyn Shade is my dream shooter: she can catch the ball, fake, dribble to her spot, and then, shoot a shot that goes in. She'll have Paige Bueckers and Carolyne Ducharme to feed her the ball & she'll give it back if that's what will score points. As someone who enjoys both men's and women's college basketball, I enjoy the stop & pop shooters who also have the floater & are willing to dish in close. Those players can wreck a defense that relies on a Lauren Betts or a Cameron Brink as the stopper. Next season, she'll have a confident Ice Bradey to dish off to.
