UConn women's basketball freshmen Morgan Cheli talks about her adjustment to the college game and what it is like to play with Paige Bueckers and the rest of the UConn team.
Welcome to CT Morgan! It's a long way from home for you, but please know that you are amongst some of the most devoted fans in the country and I think I can speak for many other longtime fans when I say we wish you the best and we can't wait to see you play. Please know that UCONN is one of only 3 places in CT that sells ice cream from their own COWS!!! That's big! I hope you have a great summer and that everything goes well for you in your transition into being a UCONN Husky forever! You're part of the UCONN family now and we CT residents treasure the time you'll be here in CT with us! Have fun too!
I think she's going to surprise - she's 6'2" and can rebound. She's an excellent ball handler, high basketball IQ, hustles, and she's actually a good offensive player, who'll be free more than not with the other scorers on this team. Starting 5 = Chen, Bueckers, El Alfy, Strong & Cheli. You heard it here first ;) Fudd & Griffin 1st two off the bench, with KK/Shade/Brady/Ziebell behind that. Samuels & Ducharme & Patterson play sparingly.
@@marvelandgroup --IDK about that. We don’t how well she can score yet. I think Allie will score more. Allie averaged 27.5 PPG in highschool and Morgan averaged only 12.5 PPG. Jana El Alfy might out-score Paige THIS year, Jana had 26+ PPG in last years FIBA U19 games. Jana could lead the Big East in scoring this year.
People thought the same last year, and yet the freshman got a ton of playing time and started multiple games. You never know what’s gonna happen with injuries etc.
