Outstanding video as always. I agree with all three elements of your wish list particularly the ability to work without having to have the ASair turned on . Thanks for all you do for us in the astrophotography community.
Thanks for watching Gailen. I so badly want to be able to plan during the day without needing the ASIAir to be turned on, some kind of planning mode with a saved setup would be amazing!
Absolutely! I want to play with scenarios, and plan, without asiair on. One would hope we with this hobby are solid. Reality check! You can't trust anyone, I've been painfully reminded recently. "Hay here I have $thousands in gear, COME GET IT". Exact location. I don't think so!
I have watched your videos many times. Thanks. I just started using ASIAir Plus & App and It's amazing!! But also I completely agree with your suggestions. I definitely want to use the App standalone at home or at day times to see what I can see tonight or next week. I want to add some nebulae, galaxies etc to my "favorites" before heading to the observing spot. Also, there is "Plan" mode. You would want to plan ahead to save the time at night! I also feel the screen is a bit too bright, so the red light mode would be fantastic! Another wish list item you didn't mention is that I already know that it's not doable to set a light session and a dark session together in the Autorun mode as there is no longer pause between the sessions, so you can't put a cover over the telescope or lens. There is "First delay" setting. It would be great to change this to or add a new "Delay between sessions".
I really like your videos. Keep up the good work. I'm a brand new newbie and need all the help I can get. Still waiting to get the scope out for the first time, but here in Columbus, Ohio the forcast is not good for the next 10 days.
Thanks for the review! I feel you there about the weather! Bummer too, holidays have some baked in 3 day weekends from work, I'd love to have the scope running each night.
Can you help? I have asiair up and running now, but I want to know if I can run my laptop by using ethernet cable by plugging it into the ASiair and directly into the laptop and operate from my laptop thanks
To control it from your laptop you'd need to put it on the same wifi, that would be the easiest method. From there, you can use Bluestacks to control it, I do have a video about it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MDUDetuNXYQ.html
A mode to red-tint everything in the app. If you install the Stellarium app on your phone/tablet, it has an option to turn everything red, preserving dark adaption.
2.0 broke my shit. It took me 2 months to make air plus work with cgem mount. Version 2.0 ,moved everything I knew where was. Not a deal breaker but just spent an hour and a half chasing Polaris . Polar alignment is impossible now. Used to take 3 mins. Got me a green smiley face😊. Afterward don’t even have polaris in my field of view. Tried resetting the firmware. It reset in like 30 seconds….. untill 99 percent complete then froze for an hour. I want the old version back and don’t make me update. 071 mc pro, 120 mc, ASI air plus. Bought iPad Pro because that was zwo preferred device, and they can’t make the app open in horizontal view untill you press the enter button. Going back to pc here. Screw zwo.
Aww man that's a bummer. I had the same thing happen a few months ago. If you have an android device, try updating the firmware with that instead. I have an old iPad and a newer android tablet, I've found that updating on one might lock up at 99% but using the other fixes that.
