Here at Astro Escape, we go over all things astrophotography, starting from the very beginner level, and working our way up from there, all to help you escape the day-to-day and enjoy your time imaging the night.

While I will mainly focus on Deep Sky Astrophotography, there will be times when we will branch out to wide field and even visual astronomy, especially when something is happening that everyone can see without optical aid!

I recommend Agena Astro for your shopping needs: bit.ly/3BB26P8

Hi there, sorry newbie questions here. Before u did the polar alignment, did u use "goto" of that asiair function to move the telescope? Or mount Hand remove? Or by hand ? I am asking since i never get my scope PA. Thanks in advance

7:08 - I'm not so sure this is true any more, since SkyWatcher released the Star Adventurer GTi which does in fact have both right ascention and declination. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in that case I think you'd be best served by using the "SkyWatcher AZ-GTi/SynScan WiFi" protocol, yes?

Do you roughly polar align...then auto focus before polar aligning? Get focus...then true polar align....then move to your target? And also now that focus knobs are being messed with..after roughly polar aligning...if focus is out..and you cant adjust it due to the knobs being locked up from the EAF...will the EAF still find focus even if you are NO WHERE CLOSE at set up?

This was awesome! I've been wanting to do this for a while now. I'm still taking rookie level images, but some of the images in stellarium are pretty lackluster. Personally, I just replaced M8, the Lagoon Nebula, with my own less monotone image. It is super cool to see it in there. :) Thank you for taking the time to do this and for listing your imaging gear. I'm looking to get more appropriate equipment at some point and it's great to see what the pros are using.

What is the app you refer too for alignment? It is not in the notes where you list everything else that you use. Perhaps I missed it… Thank you.

Thanks for this video, as I set up my AM5 and my optical train. Question please: Did you ever put together that optical train storage video? I want to keep my scope, EAF, ASIAIR, 533, and guide camera/120 put together as a system. Thanks, Michael

Hi Daylan, sorry if I misspelled your name. Thank you for all your superclear video's. I have two questions concerning the earlier asiair plus. The one with the TF slot still there. Question is, is there a difference in using the TF slot instead of a thumbdrive when it comes to data transfer speed? My second question is, the asiair plus stores in .tifs and .jpg Both formats can't be used in Siril to stack the images. Is there a way to make the asiair plus store in .raw? Or do you know of a way to make Siril accept .fits for stacking? Thank you for your clear explaining. Thanks to that I could start imaging from the getgo using my asiair plus. Cheers Martin the Netherlands

Hello there At 9:17 you are not in the centre of the star. At 9:31 it is aligned exactly in the centre of the star. what kind of adjustment did you make to align it exactly in the centre.

thanks, for the tutorial. I believe the tutorial is for the desktop and not cellphone stellarium ?. I used to live in Swickley as a child and occasionally travel to Pittsburg to see the Bueal Planetarium. ? spelling. Is it still there? I am a beginner for astro photography, just starting however have 4 years of high school and collegiate baseball sport photography experience. I've never owned a wide lens except for a 24-70 f2.8, all are long primes or zooms. I will go and subscribe now. Thanks, Ted in Sebastian, Fl.

Your videos have helped me in the past and when I finally upgraded from dslr to asi2600mc, I couldn’t get the camera to power. I was using a power converter, and your AM5 set up video mentioned to power directly to portable power, which worked. Glad you’re doing better and had to sub to the channel.

I know this is a late response but I am using a Zenith star 61mm, a canon rebel, a field flattener, a snap cable for the dslr, and a Star adventurer GTI.

My Canon EOS SL1 has a red menu option. I assume the SL2, and now SL3 do as well. This has worked great for my Astro photography at Headlands DSP. Disappointed to find out my new Canon 5D Mark IV Does not 😢. Now looking for a static film to fit the LCD.

I didn't mind focusing until I started doing narrowband, and after a few botched narrow band stacks, I got the EAF. Can't wait to use it.

Thanks for the video on how to use this lens etc. A couple of observations that you may have missed, wearing a black top with black components makes things almost invisible. Using the silver dovetail, just slide the two rings towards one end rather than centred, this allows the camera to be easily rotated and not being restricted by the silver dovetail rail.
