Why didn't yell back "this is my country!" or did he get all up in his feelings and cry? Sorry but I'm full blood Native and haven't heard of yet any of my people getting all up in their feelings about being misidentified.
I am crying right now, because I am an Asian-American nurse, and experienced comments like these from my elderly patient, but I always ignores it because they are OLD and fragile as a RESPECT to them, but it hurt a lot to watch the news that ASIANS are treated this way!!! Please STOP HATE-CRIMES 😭😭😭
I worked as a nursing assistant for many years, and my greatest admiration and respect goes out to the nurses of color who bore and endured rascist insults from their patients that still received the best care possible with compassion and respect for their human dignity
That is unacceptable. Demand better for yourself. This world doesn't work with you being the better person for the rest of your life. Teach them to be better.
Thats the problem its people like you that just ignore it and let it slide. I don't care if they are old or frail they still need to be put in there place. There are plenty of way to get your message across without cussing and yelling. No respect should ever be given unless they respect you.
@@7656476 shame on you, you can't teach a person with dementia or alzheimer's anything, and it's illegal to abuse helpless elderly patient's, you don't have any idea what you are talking about.
@@7656476 Unfortunately, there are a lot of patients who are racists who are not even suffering from alzheimer's or dementia, but are just mentally ill, and it is illegal to withhold treatment to the mentally ill, or any patient, medical people have a legal obligation to provide proper care. They take an oath. Racism is a mental illness.
I'm Asian-American and I experienced racism growing up all my life in California. Some subtle, some overt; but always there. Ive accepted it as a fact of life. But never violent like this.
You should never have to accept hatred no matter what form it takes. I'm a veteran myself and I didn't give up 4 years of my life to fight for a country where people are targeted because of their race, sexual orientation ect. This is not the America that myself and other veterans have helped to defend.
Even CA DMV is full of racism. I reported a case to a local DMV a month ago when one of their employees used Ching Chong slur at me. But there is no solution. The DMV director told me that the employee is kind special and they cannot do anything about it.
How do you know it was a HATE CRIME as a hate crime is clearly classified as a SPECIFIED OFFENSE. That means attacking someone who is a different race in itself is NOT a hate crime. So what detail do you have that the police don't in this case? Also... recognize when the media is creating a narrative and using your community. Next... as I veteran myself, I was privy to the usage of propaganda in our military campaigns. People who are already consumed with hate and envy can be easily *told what to think* about another powerless group whom they ALREADY despise. Did you know Asians are attacking black people and its not being plastered on the news? Black haven't complained about Asian people and their anti-blk racism even though they could. RU-vid no longer allows black people to post links of videos... did you know that? I cannot even prove what I'm saying because RU-vid prevents blkpeople from posting links to disprove lies.
@Young Noh You stated:It's as if you come to someone's funeral and then keeps on yelling "This is not that sad; my parents died also." Isn't that how you feel? Asians do not care about black people's pain. In Houston... Asians threatened to physically harm an Asian business man for putting up a BLM bill board in support of the fight against anti-blk racism.
@Young Noh Most Asian countries have very racist anti blk programming in their media. Then you immigrate over to America carrying the same feelings about blk people and now you're using anti'blk why-t media to project your own racism onto blkpeople. GOD will judge you all for this.... soon.
@@arrellehnisrael8229 Were you listening to the news clip? The victim said his attackers called him racial slurs before attacking him. That's the definition of a hate crime.
@Lisa Roothless you never seen asians at a black lives matter protest? You never seen blacks at an asian life matter protest? I have, so stop trying to divide people
The only way to deter racism is to stop it dead in its tracks. We have to stand together to fight it and speak up as soon as it happens, not stand by like no one notices. I agree with you, this will never happen if I'm around.
Just like him, I am a Filipino American and also a US Army and US Navy veteran. Now that I am retired, every time I am on my front yard/garage, my M-4 and 40 mm are ready to protect myself and my family just in case.
Hoorah! I’m navy and combat army vet also, but for god forbid I will fight if ever anybody goes in front of me. Survive from the war, but there’s no way someone will put a hand on me especially a veteran like us. no freakin way lakay and I will fight till I can stand up! Hooahhh!
"The description of the attackers too vague to be of use” This quote clearly shows the media bias is off the chart and why Americans distrust the news coverage. Just because the facts are uncomfortable for some, doesn't make it ok to ignore or gloss over the actual important details of these crimes.
They would rather have dangerous people on the streets attacking more innocent people like this veteran who already gave us so much than actually tell us who did it.
They were likely black or Hispanic, otherwise they’d said “two white men” which goes directly to the narrative of “white supremacists” the media attempts to promulgate. Just say it MSM. There are too many cc videos out there showing attacks on aged Asians by black youth. Period.
@@Mmm-jx7up I think he was using an expression lol, and he did say "almost zero" which definitely means there is less of an Asian population in jail than others (depending on what country you live in).
My feelings exactly. I've never met an Asian who didn't have impeccable manners. There may be some but I haven't met them. There are no "races". There is only the human race. Genetics has proven we are all descended from the same 2 people. Parents teach your children. You can't count on the school to do it.
These people were ALREADY incredibly racist and they just found the pandemic as an excuse to finally vent it out physically. Also imagine how sad someone must be to go above and beyond racist like this. Like bullying, racist individuals have other deeper rooted issues mentally.
I am from Cali. I never leave my house with at least one pepper spray, and a couple folding knives. No conceal carry.? No problem. There are way to have your gun with you, not on your body.
Point and shoot to get respect is the last message we need to spread in any time. Just look at all the crazyiness been going on. I am for arming yourself to defend yourself. But not to get respect
I'm Asian form California and had been hate crime victims more by black than white until I moved out of the state. I guess it's depending where you're living
As an Asian man, I have experienced all sorts of racial discrimination throughout my life in the US. You know what? Most of the direct and harsh racial discrimination came from Afro-Americans (or Black), not from Caucasians. Black people always raise their voices against racism, but many of them are actually racists for themselves against other races like Asians. What an utter comedy!!!!!!!!!
@@sanguineiconoclast4851 yes! they're very jealous that Asian American are mostly success in education and many more are wealthier than other races minorities.
As Asians actually I haven't experienced any racial discrimination from Caucasians and only one case of attack from a Latino who seemed like would attack anyone close to him. The rest were all from you-know-who.
@Bite Em Up I don't think he meant in that way, by wrong I think he meant innocent, and their is not a "race" to blame here just some certain people who did the wrong thing
@Bite Em Up he means it’s anger and frustration at other things/people than the ones who get attacked. People who do this usually grew up under abusive parents, & that’s who they’re really mad at but they don’t know it
I am so sorry for him and other Asians have experienced the discrimination. America is a country of diversity and we should all respect each other equally.
Not everyone in America thrives on hate, many people long for unity, the common narrative these days is that all whites are racist, get a grip cause hate is hate regardless of who you are or your ethnicity, sorry to remind folks but many White Christians started the Underground Railroad to help free slaves, many White Christians liberated the Jews from nazi camps, if you say those are long ago, then I say so are a lot of hateful people, we can change this world, but it takes effort by all, it’s too easy to be influenced by media and many lying politicians etc
@Young Noh none of that is true. Africans were slaves at the beginning, but white people fought in a war and died to end slavery. Whites are the first race in the world to abolish slavery.
@@nick61811 Very true and many whites are very nice and I was lucky to meet many of them growing up in America. My cousin married a white woman and she is very nice. Basically people are people and should be judged based on their character and personality not that race/ethnicity.
wasn't America one of the first countries to abolish slavery?. Most of these asian countries won freedom in the last 100 years only. Bad apples are there in every community. The community should come out and talk against these bad apples instead of defending those.
@@human6065 people have been talking about violence in the black community for a long time. But whenever we do, we are called "racist". Do you see the problem?
It's actually pretty nice when things like this are not happening. I've lived here my whole life and haven't had too many issues until this whole surge of hate started with the pandemic.

This is so sad! I experienced racial bullying due to the covid stuff. However, I was lucky that it was not violent but they picked on me so I cussed at them and showed them that they were not going to pick on me. Luckily, they realized that just because I am a small Asian girl meant that I was vulnerable. After being bullied for years, I developed the courage to fight back. I hope this all stops and the victims stay strong.
@STJN Thanks but I am American too and I want people to know that just because we are Vietnamese/ Asian that we are weak. We have to stay strong or people will pick on us. I developed this courage after being bullied for years though so it did not just come to me.
Heyy my last name is also Nguyen. Nice that you're standing up for yourself! These days I do not go outside that much so I haven't yet experienced any explicit aggression. Keep staying safe!
I hate how they called him Chinese just because he looks East Asian. I'm Korean American and just as much as the violence, I hate when people assume my ethnicity and nationality. When I was in elementary school people used to ask me out right if I was Chinese. When I said "no" they would say "Well then where are you from." News flash: I was born in the US and China isn't the only Asian country.
When U.S. leaders are labeling COVID19 "Chinese Virus" to politicize it instead of sticking to scientific facts this happens. They try to say "China is not a race it's a country not my fault there's Asian attacks" - they are playing dumb. They gave racists a reason to act out - racists DO NOT CARE what ethnicity you are as long as you look the part, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese, Japanese etc, they really don't care which one, as long as you're Asian. This is why all Asians need to unite and not put each other down. There should be a class action lawsuit against the GOP/Trump and U.S. Media that gave him a platform for hate speech - should make an example of them and hold them accountable so future leaders know it's unacceptable.
Well if you look at a french, british or german person can you tell the difference? I mean they all kinda look same to me. When you look at a salvadorian, guatamalen, colombian, mexican can you tell the difference? My point is unless they have a malicious intent just let things slide so what if they get your ethnicity wrong.

Nope. All violence is violence, yes. All violence are not violence motivated by racial or ethnic animous. Random violence is not a crime of passion. This kind of reductive comment is rarely motivated out of qualms with labeling. If instead of saying hate crime, we say racially-motivated attack, people would try to ignore the motivation for the crime as if that does not matter. If you want to root out, prevent, deter, and control people's basest instincts like violence, then you have to be clear about the motivation in order to develop effective and appropriate prevention, deterents, or punishment. Reducing everything to everything makes us ignorant to problems as they are developing and less equiiped to deal with them. Also intent is what we use in the calculation of a wide range of criminal penalties. Intent is the difference between manslaughter and murder as one example. So wanting to ignore racial or ethnic animus of a crime does not better serve anyone. Ignorance doesn't better serve anyone...except the perpetrators.
@Loeur Tee I know it's fantasy. But I wonder why different races hates each other? It's just sickening and sad. We all human under these different skins color.
