All this fancy technology and the Gel Trabuco 11 is still a better shoe

I'd disagree. The blast + is definitely a step up IMO, more breathable/quicker drying, and is 2 oz lighter. Maybe not as well rounded as the Gel but certainly a better choice for going fast. 8mm drop of the Gel is too much for me anyway.
