Kofuzi has tried on and reviewed countless pairs of running shoes but if it came down to JUST ONE PAIR, which would he choose? Watch as he breaks down his two favorites and reveals which other shoe still stirs up some hard feelings.
I would have to say I’ve enjoyed the running community and how RU-vid has made it possible for Normal dudes and woman to enjoy each others take on the sport. Shoes/training etc…with that said my first inspiration was the Ginger Runner who seemed to open it for the masses. And Kofuzi brought that to another level with his own take and genuine love for the sport. Love the channel Kori keep the vids coming….🤙🏽 have a great week everyone
@@KoriRuns if you try it out again and if you STILL think there’s a better daily trainer out there worth trying, let me know and I’ll give it a shot! Currently I’m using an (almost) all ASICS line-up but after finding myself in the novablast 3’s I really don’t quite see the point of my other ASICS shoes - the nimbuses, cumuluses, and nimbus lites - any more. The only non-ASICS shoe I’m using at present is the NB More v 4 for my recovery runs. And that too was a kofuzi recommend (haha) and it’s working out great. I do recall your review for the “super shoes” with carbon plating a month or so ago and will eventually buy one of those for race day. 😄✌️
Yes, Kori has a great interview style. I assume you know that Kori is a professional TV news anchor here in New York City, so that is where he gets his great poise in front of a camera from.
Kori!! So great to see you and get a new video! Looking forward to the results of your next race and getting videos of how your training went! Completed my last Half Marathon on February 25th, and it was a great day! You know how I've wanted to break through the 1:55:00 mark, and I did just that! Had a positive split where I was a little fast in the first half and buckled down to hold on at the end. But, my new PB is 1:54:52, a 4:47 shave from the time in posted in San Antonio in December. Was over the moon when I ran that time, such a great feeling! I'm going to be running a little less in the immediate future. I'm going to be lifting weights more. Need to focus my diet as well. Feel that I need to lose 15 pounds and get close to 195 lbs. I'm also looking at just a recharge of my batteries. Looking to audition for a community theatre production of Disney's The Little Mermaid for this summer. Want to try and land the role of Triton, the dad. If I make it, that will occupy me from mid May to late July. After that the work will start on my running goals for 2024. I'm looking at running my first full marathon race with the Houston Marathon in January 2024. My run training will start August 2023 thru December. It will be completely focused to complete 26.2 miles. After that race, the next bench mark will be how close can I come to 1:45:00 in the Half Marathon. If I hit my weight goals I feel that I can run faster where obtaining that time is a real possibility. Sorry I rambled! Have a great day Kori, and good luck on your race in two weeks!!
Ha ha ha! OK. Was not expecting to see myself quoted in this video! But for the record, I have, in fact, been running my easy-pace runs about a minute per mile slower since I saw the earlier video. It really does seem to help me recover better before the next speed session comes around.
Since I was a kid I “never stoped believing” I had a Nike Peg a gift from my old man, it was the peg 91 amazing shoes, never tried ASICS, I keep rotating shoes I have something in common with kofuzi I am a surgeon and I am into AI startup work now, I am leaning more into it. Thanks
I used to love the pegs too but the current models are too heavy and the heel drop is too high...still a fan though and ready to try each new iteration
Yes, they're nice, but they run long and the outsole is useless as soon as the roads get even damp. The TR is just a money grab, because it's the same shoe with only the grip that the original should have had.
Have you tried Craft shoes? Im rotating between NB 860 v12 FreshFoamX (54km) and Craft Pro Endurance PX Foam (27km): I would say the Craft foam are noticeably way better for both jogging and walking at the same price point
Some "best shoes": Nike Vengeance, 1985; Nike Mariah, 1988 version; Nike Analog, 1993; Asics Gel-Lyte, 1987; New Balance 735, 1988; I could go on and on lol....
I only started running in the past 7 years so I missed out on all of these. Do you think theses shoes can compete with all the lighter and more modern foams?
@@KoriRuns The new foams and some of the plated shoes definitely blow away a lot of the older shoes going way back. BUT, there are several shoes of the 80s, 90s, and 00's I'd bring back in a heartbeat. An example...I ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 2001 in the Nimbus 3...as good or better than lots of current shoes.
Favorite: Asics Tri Noosa 14 Nostalgia favorite: Nike Epic React 1 Worst: brooks defyance 11 (I was talked into buying them by a very eager and persuasive salesman but I hated almost every step
Nah, my pick is the New Balance SuperComp Trainer in wide (2E). It’s surprisingly stable. I am heavier than most runners at 215lbs with fallen arches. I bottom out in the nova blast 3’s and the soles of my feet heat up like crazy.
