Hey Aubrey ... as always a great comparison. I have a question / suggestion ... of all the shoes you tested: what would be your marathon shoe choice for a runner with wider feet who needs a comfortable shoe to run around the 4h mark (5.35 - 5.40 min/km pace?

Thx for the comparison. I have 2 25’s I used them for easy and recovery runs only. At first few runs the first pair were a bit bouncy and not too squishy but as the runs pile (say from the 150k) they become noticeable softer less bouncy but more comfortable yet squishy. Now that I use a newer 25 in rotation when the other is drying from rain and puddles I noticed the differences. That was my experience I don’t know if it will apply to the 26’ after few more runs or not as I don’t have them yet and it’s a matter of personal weight as well. Maybe after a few more runs you’ll notice the change If so please add some follow up later on. Cheers

Huge fan of the 25, all my long runs for Amsterdam marathon last year were done in it. My only concern with them is that after 550km in them, their grip is long gone. Good to hear the 26 has upgraded that but doesnt sound like the other upgrades are benefits to what they bring.

Thank you for this insightful video. Is the Asics Nimbus the best Max Cushion shoe in your experience or is there any other shoe which is better than the nimbus purely in terms of comfort, cushioning from impacts in particular. I want to use it for 5 miles / 8 kilometers of brisk daily walking. Thank you.

I think I’ll be getting a 25 TR version. Slightly heavier but more stable with better traction.

Have to agree for the upper on the 25, it’s quite stretchy and that’s certainly comfy for easy slow flat recovery runs but does not hold the foot in place for anything more, my foot keeps sliding forward and badly rubs the top of my toes on hills!! My idea of a long run is 20km and much over and I strongly discourage the 25 for that, they totally start sapping my energy around 18-20km!! But like I said they sure are lovely for short flat easy recovery runs!!

Loved the 25 but absolutely had problems with the forefoot feeling slippery on wet surfaces. I’ll most likely wait until my current 25s wear out before I switch to the 26s though.

Does anyone know what shoe is best for a woman who does running in place and light jogging in place? I'm not a true rumner per se, but I've found this activity enjoyable. I can't really run yet until I lose more weight. Thank you in advance

I have and enjoy both but if you don’t have either, get the 25 now for cheap. Then when the 27 comes out, get the 26 on sale. 😂

The Gel-Nimbus 26 is indeed more stable them the Gel-Nimbus 25 ! I loved the small tweaks that Asics did to improve the version 26. What I have noticed right away from putting the shoes for the first time : - much better heel lockdown that was possible from some changed in geometry and density of the foam and the heel colar. No more heel slips( my left heel with v25 )side to side . - Asics raised up the tinny ( v25)guardrails this time around and for my needs with some overpronation and made the shoes much more stable. I will have to run 100 miles plus to be certain, but for now, the Gel-Nimbus 26 "killed" my need of getting another Asics shoes but with more stability, like the GT 2000 or the Gel-Kayano. This Gel-Nimbus 26 is stable enough for me , even more them the amazing and closer to ground v24 . Maybe the only complaint I could have would be with the different outsole ... I was just walking for 2 hours non-stop on my first day with these shoes, I could feel the hard rubber mini blocks pocking my forefoot. Hopefully, this will not be an issue when running. But they sure are more durable andresilient, got more traction, and help with stability, too. The upper seems it is more breathable, and I felt no discomfort here ( summertime ! ) and I did not have overheating issues with the v25 ,even when running at 33°C without clouds summer day last year . I can wait to see more comparisons against the Gel-Nimbus 26 and your 100 km( or miles) review !
