Really like the Nova Blast 3s for my long runs but have had problems with slipping. I feel the TR version should probably have been the road version and that Asics have just fallen short in terms of grip in both iterations. Thanks for a really interesting review look forward to seeing more.
I have the exact same pair and I use it for light trails and gravel. Pleasant ride and doesn’t slip on road or light trails. Bounciness only comes in at 4:00-5:00 paces
Just got my pair of Novablast 3 TR a few days ago. Was surprised to find that it's tighter in the forefoot than Novablast 2. Hope it will open up after a few runs.
There is an actual trail version this is like a lite trail. But I took this in a step rocky snow and ice trail and never lost traction. I think the technical trail one is called the trabuco max 2
Hi Dusty, I am from Brasil, here nobody did the first impressions of Nova Blast 3 TR, did you fell some difficult to run on street? Which one do you indicate to run on street? Normal version or TR?

I don't experience the foot slapping like you do. The TR feels the exact same, so I assume it'll be the same slapping in this shoe as the road version.
Yes, this particular one (TR), doesn't have super-aggressive trail lugs which would cause any on-road discomfort, or inconvenience. A fair number of people are preferring the TR outsole on the road, just because it seems to have better wet-grip than the standard NB 3. The only negative is that the thicker outsole rubber makes the shoe slightly heavier than the ordinary NB 3. Dusty gets into this a bit at 2:27. Other RU-vid reviews cover this in more detail as well.
If you could only have one version of novablast 3 which would you get? I run mostly on city streets but sometimes it’s wet or snowy. Also have Nimbus 24
