Get a glimpse behind the scenes of our newest athlete experiment: Project Sevilla.
In December 2023, the ASICS Institute of Sport Science conducted a study in Sevilla, Spain, collaborating with twenty elite runners. The research focused on examining the effects of different pacing strategies on the runners' Perception of Effort.
Working alongside Prof. Samuele Marcora, our goal is to uncover the relationship between athletes' pacing strategies and their Perception of Effort.
This experiment is designed to detail the physical and mental states in response to speed variations. Recognizing the complexity of Perception of Effort, we concentrate on the role of different pacing strategies.
Our research actively focuses on improving athletes' mental and physical wellbeing, applying insights to advance our products and services, ensuring athletes can feel and perform their best.
▬ About ASICS ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
We’ve always believed in the positive benefits of movement on the body, and the mind. It’s why we’re called ASICS which stands for ‘Anima Sana In Corpore Sano’, or a Sound Mind in a Sound Body. Our founder, Kihachiro Onitsuka, saw that sport had the power to lift spirits, project positivity and propel people and whole communities forward. We still believe this. Which is why all of us are committed to support more people to move for body, and for mind.
