I played today with the Speed FF3. For me it is the best version of the Solution Speed. I feel lighter and faster. Since 10 years I only play with Solution speed. So I played with all versions
The tongue slide from side to side due to lack of a gusset caused me to return them. The Gel Resolution 9's gusset is perfect to keep the tongue centered.
how does the toe box fit? The previous version would cause my 4th toe some discomfort due to the shape narrowing in from the last toe to the big toe. Was wondering if there were changes there? Thanks
I love everything about this shoe, except it is the first shoe that gave me a ankle blister after I put powerstep orthotics (also another brand) in it. Tried every possible trick but the blister keeps coming back. I guess the orthotics raise the heel too high and my ankle rubs the heel lock which is relatively stiff. Also these are smaller than mygel resolution 9s. I was wearing size 8.5 of resolutions while 8.5 of these were so tight that I had to go size 9.
@FootDoctorZach Any theories on why De Minaur switched back to the Speed FF 2 after Australian Open? I also noticed Goffin wearing the Speed FF 2 this week. I normally think of Nike players when I see pro's sticking to discontinued models, but apparently it can happen to Asics players too. With Nike it makes sense cause they basically complete change their models frequently, whereas Asics more do "upgrades" and since you thought they for sure were a step up I was a bit surprised.
No idea I really liked the 3's vs the 2's but thats me- my guess is superstition or force of habit- tennis players are slow to change by nature even if presented with an update/upgrade. Same reason I refuse to switch racquets until the hoop is dangling from the throat
Hello doc, these shoes intrigued me. I know you don’t talk mention this a lot or have a category in your guide, but what shoes would benefit in intense back and forth matches, or having lots of matches the same day. Gel res, courts ff, enforce tour, or something else?
That’s a great idea for a new category though in the guides so I’ll make sure to include it in the next guide video- the gel res is probably the best of that bunch IMO

Hi Zach, another great review. One thing I've always wondered, is that you talk about your 2E feet yet you seem ok wearing narrow to medium shoes. I have the same size width and I would be crippled if I wore those shoes. How do you do that?

How do these compare to think Lacoste AG-LT23 Ultras? I currently have the Solution Speed FF 2s and like them, but as you mentioned they are very minimal and I wouldn’t mind a little more support around that ankle area. However, I haven’t been using the runners knot so maybe I could try that out. Considering also the Court FF 3 Novaks, which seem to be the most premier Asics tennis shoe? Appreciate all your videos.

Awesome review as always. Even though I come from the squash world, I love the technical breakdown because it helps me know what to look for (and not to look for) when I'm researching squash shoes. If I ever pull the trigger on reviewing squash shoes, I can only hope to achieve something as thorough as this. Side note: Review of the NB 796v4 in the near future 👀? They just look so slick and the switch from Revlite to FuelCell has to change it's performance characteristics somehow (hopefully the better). I'm going to try to get a hold of the Padel version (which are supposedly lighter) here in Europe and see if I can get away with it in squash.
Hi, with the recent addition of the width (via last measurement -from previous question). How much of a difference do you advise between the foot width and last width to account for break in and shoe stretching.

I'm not concerned about price, but a 60 year old tennis player that plays exclusively on clay and do I need the clay version of whatever you're going to recommend or is it all purpose? Surprising rating on shock absorption. Assume they're less than a gel res, but is it a big difference? My all time favorite shoe was the original court ff which seemed thin, but still provided plenty cushioning. Maybe this could be a replacement now that the FF has become so beefy.
thanks for great review. curious if you are doing a comparison video of all 3 like in the past for SS3, gr9 and ff3? do these fit more narrow than gr9. I use gr9 but these look tempting.
Would the Foot Doctor consider reviewing the DVD2, Big3 Future Low, Q4 495 Lo, Eclipsion 5, or One Take 5? Seems a bit difficult to find though and the pace of how often the new shoes release is only increasing! :(
I play squash in solution speed FF2, probably the best indoor shoe I have played in, and I have played in many. Asics, Victor, Yonex, Nike, Adidas, Li Ning, the changes in FF3 from FF2 feel radical and I'm just curious how this will translate in indoor and in a lateral movement and lunge heavy sport like squash.
Great review, do you know a fix for the lebron 21 Tahitian colourway’s scuffing? The upper of the shoe is not very durable and the colour is scratched off easily
Could you please try out the Asics Sky Elites FF MT 2's, I heard these have a really sticky bite, maybe even too sticky. Although they are volleyball shoes, volleyball and basketball gets played on the same court. And it's also just another continuation for Asics shoes!!!!
Great review as always. A question about quality of the laces, are they better than the Gel Res9 ones? I am using Gel Res 9 LE version and the laces are too thin and not durable

The insoles in these keep slipping and bunching up…never had that in a tennis shoe before. Tried superglue but that didn’t work. Any ideas how to fix or what replacement insole to use that’s just as low profile? Long-time vapor 9.5 user…frustrated that Nike is garbage now & there’s nothing out there that’s close to the 9.5.
Can you test the mizuno exceed tour 6 , then compare for forefoot runners . Also , the best insoles for middle of ball of foot relief and medium arch support in these shoes ? Foot is a regular using thin socks currently for mizuno wave exceed tour 5 . Best performance shoes , lacoste LT 23 , Mizuno W.E.T 6 or the above ?
I'm concerned about the reduced thickness in the sole compared to the FF2. My Gel Res 9 are great with hard landings, it was really hurting my heel sole before my Res 9, but they are too big and slow. I need some quick shoes with good cushioning in the heel stack, should I get the FF3 or FF2? Thanks!

So I recently starting watching your channel, I’m looking for a show for fencing 🤺, I bounce a lot on the ball of my left (rear) foot while in my en garde stance. Trying to use an indoor soccer shoe is causing like a cramp feeling in my left foot. Do you think these or another court shoe would work for that??

Ok hear me out, It might sound dumb but I heard another youtube channel comment that the vapor 11 had a more lively midsole and the vapor pro 2 had better lively uppers. What if you took the uppers from the vp2 and put them on the vapor 11 and gave it a go, that would be soooo interesting to see.
I always wore the Nike Vapor 9.5 or X and I love them. I don't know whats going on at Nike's, but the new shoes are just awful. This season I will switch to Asics.
I am currently suffering from capsulitis. I bought the New Balance 806 and found it to be abnormally tight for a New Balance shoe. Capsulitis is a real nuisance and I don't wish it upon anyone (ok, maybe a couple of people). There are a couple of reasons for capsulitis. One is a narrow shoe, another is a longer 2nd toe than the big toe so it is taking more strain. I have both of those. New Balance typically has been my go-to shoe because of the wider shoe option but they have fallen over the last couple of years. I am a minimum 2E. Can anyone recommend a wider toe box shoe that is very durable and light for tennis?
@@FootDoctorZachYes, I actually found some at a sports store this afternoon. The 4 EE felt quite nice width-wise but they weren't as comfortable. It's a trade off sometimes (like my previous NB shoe). I have been a NB shoe buyer for many years but they just don't seem to cater as much I am finding. I actually went looking for the Asics FF3 today after watching your video on them last night. Not to be found!
@@FootDoctorZachthis speed ff3 is completely different from the vapor pro? I tought both were the best shoes for speed in each brand. I really like vapor pro but theres no vapor pro clay version where I live, just all court. I was looking for a similar shoe to use on clay

Would you agree that jet march 3 might be more comfortable and supportive and slightly heavier while speed ff3 is faster and more responsive though both beeing light and speedy?
