The third interval in music theory- either the minor third or major third of a chord. people say the minor third of a chord makes it sound “sad” and the major third of a chord makes it sound “happy”. What I meant was since the chords you used on this piece didn’t have many third intervals in them, that meant that the song did not hint or suggest that the listener should “feel happy” or “feel sad” when listening. It’s just a calm well made song that helps you relax without a suggestion of how the listener should “feel” based on what third interval was used in the chords being played. I like to relax with these types of videos and hearing a well made one that is “neutral” chord wise can be very helpful for people like me who have mood disorders. When someone is depressed, they may enjoy the “sad” minor third in the chord or they might actually find it disturbing. The same is true for the major third. This is “neutral” in that it has very little of either so for me personally I find it comforting. Thank you for making this piece it is good for me to relax to when I need it. Continued support for the channel. 🙂
Thank you for your wonderful music. Music you can escape to in your dreams. Please tell us a little more about yourself? Where are you based? Can you play live?
Hey Lux, that was very nice. I guess RU-vid recommended this video to me since I composed and uploaded some music of my own recently, also - ostensibly - as "listen to while you read Asimov." At least that's the name I gave it. I stuck with the name, even when I'd noticed that the music was a bit dramatic in some bits to read to, (I'd already done a bunch of art for the video, on that topic: you know, the "spaceship and sun" logo of the Empire? That was in it - and that art had taken quite some time...) Anyway, this is nice, and much more appropriate for listening to while reading Asimov than my own offering. I mean, having said that, I still like my music, it's just that it's probably more aptly titled, "Music to listen to while doing your chores... and thinking about Asimov"! Lol. It's still, like, 75-80% mellow. But there're quite a few sections where it gets a bit too dramatic/exciting for reading music really. Sigh. I'd be interested to hear your feedback on it if you'd like to give it a listen (or even just a bit of it. It's pretty long. But you could just have it on in the background - that's the point really...) If you'd like to have a listen, here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9jX7vNfQ0fQ.html
I have listened to some excerpts. There are some interesting ideas. I think it would work better for reading if it were slower and more leisurely. It would also help to put reverb to make it more enveloping.
