Lol, my theatre teacher talks about how disciplined these folks are and this really shows it. From how quiet Ben speaks to how he doesn't eat anything "fun" to how he won't sing cuz he has a show to do he shows off his professionalism!
@@lucyh5122 In a later interview he specifically said that he chose not to and he even kinda thinks it was overkill now. He had to lose weight, but dairy and gluten were his choice. Same goes for not singing. He shouldn't, but he was just smart enough to know that
It made me laugh that his neighbors tell him he's loud when he sings in the shower. I would have my ear up against the wall trying to hear him sing!! They should be thanking him!!!!

Its ok, like it is one of the most well known musicals and considered to be one of the best of all time, bur you know it is old so I get it that people dont know about it. Its Gypsy, GREAT SHOW, if you would like to watch it, go to broadwayhd.com and they have the newest London Revival production with Immelda Stauton and it is AMAZING, I highly recommed the rent.
the thing that sucks is I never really grew up with musicals and theater im just now getting into it with hamilton, and heathers, and of course dear evan hansen -and a few others- because I always thought musicals were stuffy or had really boring music so I didn't really get alot of what he was saying which really sucks

It's kind of sad. Almost all of these broadway stars always talk about how they grew up seeing Broadway shows and listening to the soundtracks. As a person who didn't get into musical theatre until I was 13 it's really disheartening, as if i don't have a chance because i didn't have the same childhood experience.
I love watching him then vs now. He's so much more mature after the Politician and his album. He seems so anxious in this and it is truly amazing to see the transformation
I just want to meet him and give him a big hug. Whenever I see someone really great in a musical I just want to hug the greatness and beauty. I saw Big Fish at a high school the other day and the guy who played Edward Bloom was AMAZING! I didn’t know him and I still have never met him but I just want to give him a huge hug! But still, Ben is always KING!
lily byrne since the show is so vocally demanding, dairy and gluten affect your vocal chords and how you sound when you sing. Eliminating those two groups greatly helps withstand the voice 8 shows a week.
lily byrne because dairy effects ur voice/throat when u sing I know cause I'm my musical theater company a week before a show and until a show is over we can't have ANY dairy😂
Ben has also said that no one working on dear evan hansen made him stop eating gluten and dairy but 1. he said it makes him feel better/ feel like he performs better and 2. he envisioned evan as a skinny teenager and not eating gluten + dairy makes it a lot easier to maintain that physique
Dairy effects your vocal cords, don’t want to get to far into it but it is thick so it builds up in your cords and so it is a thick wall that you have to push your vocal cords harder to get through it, there is also needing to stay active and healthy and cutting out dairy is probably best
