On your answer to the gluttony question. While the person engaging in the eating contest may not be guilty of gluttony, might not the contest itself be sinful as it encourages needless overconsumption?
So is one proper to teach that the New Jerusalem if literal in Revelation as "coming down" will in fact be an intact physical city dimension which is similar to an outer space craft? How literal do you find the "Kingdom of God" coming in it's entirety and the theological concept that there is an Eternal City? Do you believe there is a literal 1,000 years yet to come and those who refuse Christ are banished outside those gates? Or what weight do you believe there is scripturally to say that the eternal kingdom comes with the next dispensation and thus - there is no millennial reign yet to come. For some Protestants teach that there is an end time breaking of the seals and the earth come under a form of judgment - then the "end transition" comes. Does that mean that Purgatory which is parallel of sorts or another dimension that is actual - in some strange way converges at that Great & Terrible Day of the Lord, correct? And if that is accurate - are we experiencing a form of Purgatory. There are many passages that focus upon "working in the field" or at the grind stone, getting married and living life - yet we have a duty to evangelism, apologetics and it seems marketplace ministries.
