Just recently started watching your videos. Binged through all you seasons. Really enjoy it. Thanks for showing us the down stuff, issues and problems as well all the fun stuff. It makes it real.
Really hoping to hear some good news soon about the poor Goose. I have seen dogs with pancreatitis over my years working in an animal rescue and it is not easy but I have seen dogs pull through it. A specialised low fat diet is essential and a slow feeder may help if he bolts his food, plenty of fluids too - but it sounds like you have a good vet who is supporting you. Just watch not to get signs of pancreatitis mixed up with the deadly bloat!. If you or your family or are worried please don’t take any risks and straight to the vets for a check up. Really hoping for good news for the Goose, and I am sorry to hear about the loss of your parents dog. It is the hardest thing in the world about owning a dog, I lost my little poodle Troy Sep 2019 not a day goes by I do not think of him. Miss him every day, really glad we got to island hop and explore the Isles of Scilly together, and spent a lot of our holidays around the coast of Cornwall. We had some amazing adventures, but boy what I would give to have one more adventure with him. He passed at the grand age of 14 at home with us. Man, it does not get easier does it. Stay strong for Goose, I am rooting for him from the U.K, hope he feels better soon and fights it!!!
Age and money question: you’re spot on. Newer better for comfort but also wear and tear if planning to go blue water. Design has come a long way. Old Corvettes are cool for a quick ride but get out the new car for amenities and long distances.
Enjoy your Podcasts!! Can't stay through with any others!! " Ammmmm, Ahhhhh, Yeahhhhhhhh is typical pilot radio talk!! You'll have a hard time losing it!!
My dog suffers from pancreatitis, and we've found it can be best managed with diet (she has a weight control dry food), and then stomach calmer, available from the vet, in Europe we have a German one called Sucrabest (1g granules) - I am sure other brands are available. Tends to work well, not horribly expensive (cheaper than repeated vet visits), and then, if unwell, a little painkiller, which is really cheap - Novalgin is the brand here in Europe, 500mg/ml - I am sure you have your own local brand. It doesn't need to be life-ending, if managed, and not terribly expensive. My 2¢ worth. Great video.
Good to see u again Bobby , been there at the beginning , but had to take a break away , patreon , heard about goose , sorry to hear , & luvd my man the MAVERICK ! , Have GOOSE in my Prayers BOOBY , hoping for the BEST , luv the DARK SIDE !
What type of stroke did you have? Did it leave you with any deficits that affect your boating experience? Most common aftereffect is dizziness, balance problems.
Remember if we did not like you, we would not say these things ! its ok to not mention who the best crew member ever is, I won't name her either... and by the way if you cant bring yourself to do it, would it be ok if we asked her to stay permanently on your boat ? the kindest sweetest prettiest smartest most level headed and capable with a huge heart of gold bubbling over with love. she deserves the best, and that is you !!!.
There is a portable language translator device that will translate language in real time that is Bluetooth headphones and the person Listening will be able to translate the language being spoken
Bobby I am not happy with you. Ever since you talked about a Norhaven all my husband has done is watched videos on Norhaven's. He thinks we should get a 63-68 foot forward Pilot House and head out. We already have a Cascade 42 that we keep in HI. He sailed it from Seattle to HI back in 2000.
Pets are our responsibility from birth to death. When a pet can't live a normal life, it's our responsibility to put them to sleep. It's a neccessary evil of pet ownership. Don't let them suffer.
Loan payments, boat insurance, customs fees, medical insurance, satellite phone & weather programs monthly fees etc. all add up unless you are a marina or mooring dweller.
Bobby- I have to ask you man to man and with all due respect, Really, no tension? HOW do you live with all those beautiful women in hardly there bikinis?? Especially Taylor ❤ I probably would rather swim with the sharks than put myself through that. You are an inspiration and the envy to all the guys.. and I'm sure some girls who follow you. Thank you and stay safe!
Think he implied some shenanigans happen at times w too much drink. If that happens n they can all look each other in the face afterwards. It must be working out for them. Whatever that implies. I can dig it.
Good Q/A. I would also like to see you incorporate some more learning into the videos. Variety is good. Love to get 2 minutes on how to read a nautical chart. Regarding operating costs, I'm betting some people are thinking "gosh, $3,000 - $5,000 a month sounds like a lot" and then you add it up and realize it's $60k and that's what a lot of people plan on living on in retirement anyway. eg. Teacher's pension after 35 years is $65k/year and that's just one person.
@Patrick Hackett First, I wasn't replying to you. Second, my map says they are NOT in the middle of the ocean, that boat will never see the middle of the ocean. I'm confused on how you weaved the "middle of the ocean" into this? You are quite the stud service there Patrick, often like what? What is often?
radio net??? BOBBY are you a HAM???? if so... or EVEN IF NOT a HAM, what is your opinion about all the people REMOVING AND TRASHING The HF SSB radios on the boats ''because of the antenna'' ???????? or wutever... they think it's OLD SCHOOL or wutever, think their ''fone'' is gunna work for every situtation... ?? LOL sigh..... I would be sittin there calling CQ in the middle of the night to fill in spaces in my logbook...~!!!! just saying... ELEVATE not escalate!!!!! the only thing that should be BANNED is the HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (me)
Bobby, I love your videos. I don't want to hear you drink beer in the microphone and smack your lips. In private, no big deal. In a microphone I can hear you swallow and suppress a burp. It is like fingernails on a chalk board. I drink beer. Just FYI Thanks
When are you going to get a sailboat Bobby it is sailing doodles not stink boat doodles. Get out of that stink boat and get back to the good life dude. Just Saying
