+Philip Khristian Perez If you're having trouble pairing to the base after pairing to a mobile device it is because you can only pair to one device (tablet or cradle, not both) at a time. Scan 'Set Defaults' on the quick start guide which you can download here posguys.com/barcode-reader-scanner_3/Motorola-LI4278_1212/. Then scan the pairing barcode on the cradle as mentioned above. Hi Nawab, the range is 100 meters line-of-sight. If there are walls, packed display racks, or metal shipping containers stacked between the LI4278 and the base than they may disrupt the communication. If the area you are scanning in is relatively open and you are still having difficulty with the range contact support for assistance. If you purchased your LI4278 from POSGuys.com it includes lifetime POSGuys support and our number is 800.903.6571. You would need to put the scanner into Serial port mode first and then try to connect the scanner. We do not have a Linux network set up so we unfortunately can't test that for you but Zebra may be able to do so. Read page 4-24 of the user manual and then scan your desired setting using the barcodes on page 4-25.
