Always choose one with a good strong aroma and reject if there's no smell at all when u sniff it And u don't need to get the durian close to your ear when shaking it. Just hold it tight horizontally with both hands and shake. U should feel the pulps inside moving slightly if the durian is fully ripe
Those are Thailand durian If u ask Malaysias to do so, probably u asking for war, they usually wait for the durian to ripe and drop naturally without hitting the ground to prevent it from start fermentation, then freeze them in liquid nitrogen then export it to China or futhur countries
