Hi Idin, My preferred wording for the first question is "What differentiates an EXCELLENT trainee at your firm from a good one?". That way imo you avoid the risk of the interviewer naming more generic competencies and instead focus their mind on the real standout qualities/competencies they've encountered with excellent trainees
Another great video Idin! After one of my successful interviews, I had no questions in mind, so I asked for a few moments to think. After around 15 seconds of me pondering whilst staring at the wall, I thought of a fairly generic question to ask, which then led to me asking more specific questions and another 10 minutes of interesting conversation with my interviewers, which I believe was the main reason for my offer. I don't think I would have taken the time to think of a question had I not seen your earlier video on interview tips about staying calm and taking time to think before answering!
Mate, thanks for sharing. The question bit at the end of the interview is still "assessed" in some sort of way. By that I mean you can use it to give a better impression of yourself. Seems like you managed that in your interview! 👆 🙏
Hello Idin! Is there any chance I could contact you privately? I have an upcoming Paralegal role interview in a week time and I would really benefit from personalised tips.
In my opinion, the first two are kind of useless. I've asked them multiple times and you just get the answer "we're just looking for the complete package", or they just refer to the requirements that they have listed on their website. They're normally not very enthusiastic about answering these questions, because everyone asks them.
Fair enough. I've had a good experience asking them. You're not looking for what is on the website for this. You're looking for the personal experiences of the interviewers from working with trainees/vac schemers. They'll have their views on what makes a trainee valuable on their team or not. P.S. Most of the time, interviewing partners won't know what's on the website anyway!
