One of the first interviews I had I failed because I was a novice at interviews. It was pretty funny though. I turned the tables and started asking the interviewer questions. It caught him so off guard, but he answered well, but it was a vague answer because he wasn't prepared for it. Totally caught him off guard. So, moral of the story is, it is really easy to prepare and pose questions at someone. But, it is harder to answer the questions.
Helpful video, thank you. Sending in applications now, must have sent in dozens... If I'm fortunate enough to get selected for interview, I'll definitely make use of these tactics.
Hey Idin, thank you for these informative and on-point videos. I have learnt a great deal from you. I wanted to ask: would you think about doing a video on answering the question (which often comes up at the application stage) "How do you think the legal profession has been affected by, and responded to, the 4th Industrial Revolution, and what does this mean for you as a future legal practitioner?" - something to that effect. All the best.
I did vac schemes with a magic circle firm and a silver circle firm in 2018. For the past 3 years I haven't landed a single interview, and now I'm graduated :(
Sir I have a question that is if a applicant applying for a training contract , do not have any previous work experience neither internship, then how will he succeed in the application form process please give me some tips. i will be grateful sir.
Great video! I've been really stuck on this interview question I got asked "How do you manage your day's workload?" How can I answer this? What experience can I give to demonstrate my competence? Another one was "Have you had a time when your supervisor pressured you?" How can I answer this one? Thanks!
Today I found out the camera on my laptop doesn’t work, this happened during my interview. The computer is new and I haven’t dropped it or anything. The thing failed on me and hopefully it didn’t cost me a new job opportunity. Thank god for having my iPad in handy. I’m just losing my mind why this happened to me after preparing all weekend long for this. The delayed lasted 5-6 mins, not good.
@@IdinSabahipour one of the two attorneys didn’t make it a big deal, he still conducted the interview. He knew I was trying to be as professional as I could by using a laptop for my zoom interview. The other attorney did look frustrated, he even walked away to take a call. Hopefully that wasn’t a bad sign.
@@franciscocolin2008 Oh, it was a "live" interview! I'm sure they'll understand. This sort of thing happens a lot more than you'd imagine and people are quite used to it now.
Hey Catherine! I did fewer applications each year I applied. I think I did around 10-12 applications in my last round. Most people I've spoken to have done fewer. What I'd say is that you should do as many as you can as long as: 1) they're all done to a high enough level of quality (well-researched and written); and 2) the firms are ones you're actually interested in (cause who wants to end up at a firm that they're not interested in for 2 years?!) I hope that helps!
