The distance between my fishing hut and cookhouse is slightly more than your fishing hut to your longhouse. Is there a way to automate the transport between the two? I often forget to check the drying rack and many fish get wasted.

Have your cook near the fishing hut only cook fish soup. Then have a market worker haul all of the fish soup in bulk from the fishing hut area into your main cooked food storage WH. I do this set up as well, it's very satisfying to watch it all work.
Thank you so much for all the explanations. Not many guides out there for this game yet. Question if you know. If I change a villager from a (example) 2 handed to a club/shield do they lose all the levels of proficiency? or is that carried over? I can imagine if you go from the barracks to the archery you have to start over.
