That's because Older bmw are usually under 10k and since they know the ins and out of BMWs, they know how to take care of them.

@@Mellysgot556 owned F10 M5 F06 650 gc, I still own my c6 zr1 and c7z. Difference is when you get with European brands it’s a lottery on what big money item will break. It’s never a will it break it’s when. 11k timing cover gasket is why I got rid of my 650, the M5 the transmission took a shit. Both my vettes 11 and 17 are manual and virtually give me no problem. I bought a 3rd gen Escalade for a daily best decision I ever made was leaving foreign cars alone

The 7.5 inch intercooler is pretty overkill, maybe has a upgraded Single Turbo setup👀. Would be the most sleeper x3 I’ve ever seen.

A manual e92 with an n54 is a modern 2j you just have to keep up on maintenance. Still tens of thousands cheaper than a good condition supra. Or even a clapped out supra.

When you get the parts for dirt cheap and you can do your own labor. Ask them what they would drive if they didn’t work there and had to pay regular price for parts.

They are technicians…they work for bmw….they can fix any issues on their bmws….at least attempt to make a funny comment.

The chassis codes (E36/E93/E92 etc.) can be a bit confusing. But those are just to denote the generation of the car, whereas the model name denotes the actual model of the car (335i, X3 etc.). For example, an F30 335i can be decoded as: a three series (the 3 in 335i) made between 2012 and 2018 (F30) that has a 6 cylinder engine (35i). These change over the years, but can be learned fairly easily if you spend some time on wikipedia :)

Now they imitate that with numbers like 30 and 40 for the different engines. Thats because you get the same power out of less displacement on modern engines. So its just done so that people dont judge the cars by their displacement anymore.
