I think it's also worth noting that the players who played against/with MJ and chose Lebron as their GOAT consisted of only 3 players: Bill Laimbeer, Isiah Thomas, and Scottie Pippen. All of these 3 have noted their personal grudges against Michael Jordan. Obviously, I love these players and they are all all-time greats, but that's pretty interesting that the only 3 players to have witnessed Jordan live and voted against him also have personal reasons to dislike him.

Jordan was wholly obsessed with winning like no other player in NBA history. Thats what made him practice more, push his teammates more, and drove his killer instinct to be the best. Not to mention his natural ability was head and shoulders above everyone else. I watched him on TV growing up every chance I got. Saw the commercials. Watched people overseas mob him like a rock star. The NBA grew into an international business because of Jordan. People my age 45-50 know what im talking about. The things the man did on the court were unreal and the NBA blew up because of it. No one has had an impact the way MJ did.

Jordan was the only one obsessed? You think he was the only one that practice more? Killer instinct? What does that actually mean? He was th only one to have killer instinct? . Here's the problem. The hype, if a person says MJ the goat all the time, people will believe it. Watched people overseas mob him? They mobbed NBA players.How did he make the NBA an international sport? There's no NBA over here. I'm 57 and what you were saying isn't necessarily accurate, Things on the NBA were unreal, ok. but at the age of 45-50 have you seen Juius Erving play? I don't know about the NBA blew up because of him. What about Magic, Bird, Doc that were before him. David Stern also did a great job of marketing the league.

@grosskopf2779 "Jordan was the only one obsessed? You think he was the only one that practice more?" He is the only one where literally DOZENS of teammates tell stories that their practices were harder than the games, because of him, yes. :) That he only slept a few hours a night, that he was (even with 40) the guy with the most hours in the gym. "Killer instinct? What does that actually mean?" What do you think? :) It means what it means. He was relentless, he LIVED to destroy others during games. Not so "groß", your "kopf", hm? ;)

I'm always amazed at how little respect Kareem gets, with only 1% of the vote Granted, he was on his way out of the league as Jordan was taking over, but his resume is far better than LeBron's, and he was the best player in the league through the 70's. 6 rings, 6 MVPs, all-time scoring leader for almost 2 generations. Hard to do that, in LA, and get no love.
@jamiekelley4076
@jamiekelley4076 11 месяцев назад
I think his legacy gets hurt because the 70s really felt like a transitional era for basketball and Kareem's prime got stuck in that NBA history. That coupled with the fact that most of his championships were won when people considered him the second best player to Magic probably keeps a lot of people from really understanding how good he was.

Tbh i love jxmys work but in this case i have some argues. Most important, 112 players is not concider a capable sample when we refer to tens of thaousands of players throughout the nba history. Second, sample should be taken equally from players of all decades wich is imposible to do now since players who played in the first decades are no longer alive or to old to even bother to concider participating in this serioucly. Third, an average player's opinion is not having the same importance as the one of a hof. HOF players usually play the game longer. In order to do that they must win more wich means they must be better of others. Being that allou them to understand and critisize others. Also this whould only means something if we somehow have a way to be sure that opinions are authentic and players not gonna change their mind ever, wich as you see from some players is way far from the trouth. So even if i find this channel the best in yt i have doubts about this one.

if anyone still denies MJ's status after his ultimate mixtape, his accomplishments, and records (reg season, post season, and career)...they can never be convinced...probably insist that 2+2=5 as well LOL...MJ was scoring on bigs of the 80's/90's like it was nothing...he'd do everything in his mixtape to today's current players...even Lebron...and probably be in their head and have them out of their game even before tip off with trash talk...

For me it’s always been about “the eye test”. If you spend an hour watching LeBron highlights and then spend an hour watching MJ highlights it’s clear MJ is the better and more talented player. If you were at a playground watching guys play and MJ and LeBron were among them, if someone asked you who the best on the court was, most people would likely say MJ. He could just do things no one else could. And once you consider all that, afterwards, when you look at the stats and accolades, it solidifies that MJ is the GOAT… for me, the UNDISPUTED GOAT.

I remember watching MJ when he first came back from baseball. Before that, I thought that he was literally unbeatable. When he got eliminated in 95' I thought maybe he's just not MJ anymore... maybe things are different now and he's just like other great players who maybe got unlucky or beaten sometimes. It was a weird feeling because MJ losing a big game wasn't even on the table before that. Then he came back the next year and he led the greatest team of all time to a championship. When he was back, I felt like he was the same guy who had won the first 3 championships. He was absolutely untouchable. That feeling stayed with me until he took his final shot with the Bulls over Byron Russel to clinch game 6 of the NBA Finals. MJ at his best wouldn't/couldn't lose. Lebron is 95' MJ(45), he's capable of some great play, and winning a championship but he can be beaten by another great player or maybe lose a big series. The greatest players sometimes lose or get outplayed. When Jordan was at his best, he never let me think of him in any other way, he was unbeatable. That's why he's the GOAT.

I definitely liked to see how Kobe was ranked higher by players. A lot of fans put him so low on the Top 10, and so this is a great reminder that looking at just the numbers and accolades isn't a good way to define greatness.

I’m so glad this video is on the internet and will be immortalized for years to come. I can imagine the newer generation of fans just clicking on jxmys video on a whim and be immediately educated on the game.

This has to be one of your best videos to date. It was amazing seeing the results in such detail. On one list I laughed when I saw Wilt and Lebron voting for themselves. I also was very dissappointed to see Pippen switching his vote. The Last Dance really did him in.

Pippen was just jealous. He feels that MJ took his chance to be a superstar from him. He was always being outshined by MJ. He's bitter about it.

@@arthurpeters1996 Jordan has always appreciated the role pippen played. It's got nothing to do with MJ why scottie is bitter. He's bitter because he's insecure plain and simple.

Jxmy loves LeBron. You wouldn’t know it from this video. His unbias approach is what makes him stand above the rest especially mainstream sports media. My favorite sports youtube channel by the circumference of the Earth

Consider a series between an "All-Lebron" team of guys who voted for Lebron and and "All-Mike" team who voted for Mike. I'd reckon team "All-Mike" would win 4-0.
