@ the Sunshine Theater. Sadly this was my last show of this tour. But OC, LA, El Paso & ABQ were some of the best shows I've been to...especially LA! Hope he returns to the US later this year. Miss my Moz family.
I'm from England. The world Morrissey sings about. You feel it, you smell it, you experience it. The rain, the bus the dreams of a better world. The war between rich and poor the alienation. Britain was more violent. Gangs, looking gay or just being different. Skin heads on the bus. Cheap larger and cider. The thrills aren't many. You take them were you can. He channeled that into something creative.
those words could become the next Morrissey recording.. just add in some references to being sad, potentially violent but not actually violent, a long lost love, a girl you never met, a dream you had, the death of someone close, a man you loved but couldn't tell him, a glass of milk which went sour, your anxious obsessions... just some ideas..
I'm from Manchester, Morrisseys old stomping ground. It's now become gentrified with cranes filling the city skyline, apartments going up, pubs closing.
It's one of the most beautiful, haunting, fragile songs ever written, and has been a part of my soul since I was 11 (I'm 40 now). I would be overwhelmed to see him play this live too, but I would not whoop. Wrong song, wrong moment.
I have to say that I love Morrissey for being one of those artist who don't use earplugs on stage. He basically hears everything the fans say back to him... I think it really builds a relationship between him and us. He tells us his stories in his songs... and reacts to us. He's such a wonderful and precious present to us. God, I love this man.
OMG !!!! Thanks for share this beautiful video ! our moz is back ! WE LOVE YOU MORRISSEY ! PLEASE SING ME TO SLEEP and please when I wake up LET ME KISS YOU ! VIVA MOZ !!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this, the video quality is amazing. I get the chills just thinking about seeing him live - which will happen on October 6th. Can't wait!
I did not. Sorry. I try not to take too many videos when I'm in the front row because I don't think Morrissey likes that too much. In Cali, he saw me holding a camera and didn't shake my hand so I held back in El Paso and ABQ.
This song is so delicate & calm - why would others take away & rob people of the tranquil experience of this song by screaming & shouting? It's Asleep not Shoplifters. Do they have ADHD? Or is this just a loud American thing?
