The music is amazing, even though for me Final Fantasy, and SquareSOFT music will always be defined by Nobuo Uematsu, the music here was equally good.

@@peterg4130 Though true, Uematsu considers Soken as one of his proteges and now considers him as his equal, especially after ShB and EW release. The funny thing is that Soken trained as a chemical engineer first but ultimately got bored of the job nad went into music. There are tons of videos about his philosophy in music nad experiments with all sorts of music that Uematsu never touched. some of his pieces also just us random items to make sounds too.

The music is great, but most of what i heard were new renditions of returning classic FF themes, certainly not original melody composition. - not a complaint, its probably my favourite part.

Fr, when I saw it had everyone doing these British accents I was afraid it was gonna be like FF14's voiceover but it is more like FF12 where it doesn't feel super anime-y and they also got age appropriate actors instead of women doing hyper anime little kid voices and shit. So pumped for this game after playing this demo last night

FF14 Voice over was still decent in my opinion, also don't almost all medieval fantasy games have British accents if they're speaking English? would be a little jarring hearing a cali accent or a new yorker (though that would be entertaining in its own right) cuz it would break emersion a little

I pre-bought the full game but also bought Diablo iv, so I was thinking about just enjoying the game to its fullest extent spoiler free when it comes out. Or is this demo good enough to just play it now?

@@Nead_Dill_Dickersons_jr I recommend playing the demo as you can carry over progress from the demo to the full game, including not having to replay what you do in said demo. But of course that all boils down to personal preference, so if you wanna wait till the full release that's fine too, you're not gonna miss out on anything unique.

clive VC is actually really good so far... not a fan of joshua (pretty sure same VC as in the plaque games, he's young so forgivable) but yeah, the direction FF is taking with this is something im a major fan of... cant wait for release!

@@hadomatsu it depended on the person case by case. if somebody who not accustomed with anime/japan languange there is a posibilities that they've might not like it. it also the other way around, if you not accostomed with english there is possibilities that you prefer japanese voice acting. and there are also people who might loved both language at the same time or hate both of them and prefer german over them both. thats why its good W for the dev team giving people the option to choose which one they like as long that voice actor have the same standart as english voice actor that already great imho.. ( i cannot judge other language voice actor since im not looking at it yet/ maybe dont understand it even if i do, so its not that im using english voice actor standart for ego reason and have any prejudice/ biased toward other language).

That was my favorite moment. The attacks reminded me exactly of Final Fantasy 14 and the Dragoon of FFV and FFT that I've enjoyed throughout my life.

@@davidpowers9178 no one ever said 15 was the magnum opus. Literally no one ever. Even fans of 15 (like me) never said it was the greatest thing ever created. It is VERY flawed, but it's still an incredible experience anyway. Sure, I hate pushing that car for like 10 minutes at the start of the game, and the story when you fight Leviathan and afterwards is very rushed. (Should've had more actual interactions with lunafreya before then, because it was clear her death was supposed to be tragic, but like you literally just met her basically). Still, I enjoy the game and it was a bold concept. But its flaws were visible from the start. This game doesn't have those. Sure, it's a little too cutsceney, which isn't a huge problem since it's a pretty large prologue in terms of story. Too much combat would've drawn it out too much. Otherwise, the story, concept, characters, and soundtrack are all done very well. Haven't done the eikonic challenge to feel the later game combat, but it's an interesting approach to FF combat. I have a feeling this will go down as one of the most famous FF's in history, probably since 7.

@@cr7thebestplayer100 The original is one of the weakest Final Fantasy games, full of flaws and has lackluster story and the added content doesn't help it one bit and makes it even less sensible. Maybe they can fix the issues on the remake trilogy, but they will need to change the shape the story with heavy hand - I am cautiously optimistic.

as a not-fan of FF (except the first and 2nd on NES) I have no idea what people like about this series. It makes me cringe with the over the top everything and angsty teen edginess. I don't get it but I'm aware they're probably excellent games for fans

@@notslucis9977 They specifically casted English theater actors for 12! It really came out in the performance.

It helps that they cast English actors for both the voice and mocap first, and therefore the Japanese is purely a dub for the first time in FF history.

yoshi-p is not a writer. i love the guy as much as anyone but he's a producer, he produces the game. mostly behind the scenes work.

@@ItachiKai You're not wrong, but Yoshi-P's influence is a large part of why the game will probably be so good. Many artists in the games industry aren't given the time or budget to actually showcase their talents, as so many studios suffer from publishers sticking their nose in, or horrible mismanagement of time and work efficiency. Yoshi-P isn't an artist,writer, or programmer, but he is damn good at making sure each of the talented people in those roles get the time they need to polish their part of the game up to standard.

@@dinohunter321 the things you mention would be part of the director and the SE executive suite (of which yoshi-p is a member) but still, people are over-crediting yoshida to the detriment of the reputation of the others who are playing a bigger role in XVI.

I actually love how the magic demonstrated that it has a toll on the user. When Joshua used Fira and Curaga, it felt like the usage of high level magic almost kill him.

I think the fact we get to play even just a tiny bit of Joshua is sort of like ‘gameplay foreshadowing’ that we’re gonna get other story moments playing as the other characters. FF14 pre-Shadowbringers used this as a bit of a surprise where you got to control the story characters at parts, I assume this game will do something like that later in service of the story

@@BladetastersDelight or maybe it's just like jedi survivor where you play as cere for literally like ten minutes and that's it. (no hate to survivor, great game, but if you're going to have us play as another character, that chance was a bit wasted)

@landrybt 'in charge' typically means Director. he's a producer, so he's involved. but to say he's 'in charge' is a misunderstanding of what a producer actually does.

Also the Titan one acts as a party when you perfectly time it with follow up attacks. Titan is so awesome play with!

Well they did literally rip the first 2 hours of the actual game for everyone to enjoy, plus a mode you can play over and over with a bunch of abilities.

Without big flashy impacts, the actual 'impact' of the spells would feel 'weak'. Imagine if a giant firaga barely splashed as much as a fire for example. I'm happy they went that route.

Idk the theme in that chick’s battle felt a bit off imo. Otherwise it was pretty great.

The flashiness in spells is the biggest part of the spell imagine firaga was a light candle spark.

I hope you consider playing FF7 original, followed by watching Advent Children Complete! FF7R's story diverges quite literally, and because the canon story ghosts are gone, things are gonna be quite different, but its all colored by the original game. Advent Children literally has scenes in Remake as a reference, implying quite a lot. I also hope you consider playing 4, 6, 9, 10, and 12, all very different games but iconic for their own reasons. There are rumors that Rebirth will take some inspiration from 12's gambit system for your companions. 4 and 6 are iconic, and definitely worth playing to get a taste of what "classic" Final Fantasy is like.

Modern FF games, though awesome, are different from their early counterparts. And I would imagine the old games would be hard to get into, not unless you like turn-based combat and dated graphics. Definitely try them out though! FF6 needs a remake. I personally consider it the best FF game of the series. FF7 was huge partly because graphics engines were getting better and it was the first FF game to utilize 3d models, so it looked way different from every other entry before it. It also helped sell a lot of Playstations, being the first Final Fantasy game on PS. I was one of those gamers who had to have a Playstation so I could play FF7. That and the original Resident Evil 2 came out at about the same time.

Recommend you switch to configuration 3/C if you really wanna min-max the amount of combos you can pull off quicker than the default config.

Combat is rarely mentioned because it was never their selling point nor what they are famous for (heck even X's nor XII's combat wasn't as great as the other turnbase games of that era).

Apparently a much harder difficulty that changes up mob placement and everything. Amd besides, this game has even more combat depth than dmc5 did. Crazy, but true after playing eikonic mode for a bit. There's soooo much to it. Besides, it's final fantasy 16. Not dark souls16 hardcore leet 3, the prequel. It's not meant to be insanely difficult.

I have so many thoughts on this. In the trailers we see Phoenix fighting Bahamut??? So clearly there are shenanigans going on. Not to mention, the filter we see as Ifrit is decimating Phoenix looks like the "POV" filter like we see from Joshua when he sees Ifrit the first time, while we hear Clive's voice. Is it actually Clive that turned into Ifrit, or was there another person there that turned into Ifrit??? We see Ifrit fighting Ifrit in the trailers, too, so there are just no clear answers right now.

@@DoomiePookie Maybe because we don't like having our time wasted by shit that just doesn't fucking matter all that much. I'm all for a game having a story and cutscenes and what not, but when it's to the point that the story and cutscenes take the major precedent over the gameplay, then what's the point of even playing it? It's an issue of pacing and not properly balancing game-time and story-time, and so far from what I can tell just from the demo, FFXVI has really bad pacing.
