This is why I watch older WoW sessions & comedy WoW sessions. Person playing WoW to spread their anger, rage, depression.

Hating WoW then falling in love with it again when something new launches. Thats the eternal cycle

Agree with you, I've stopped watching certain gamers who play aggressively angry, extreme cursing, throwing hate remarks, can't seem to like anything. Why watch & be depressed? Gaming should be enjoyable, fun playing in actions.

Penguinz0 definitely enjoys the games he plays, I really enjoyed his recent Deformed playthrough and thats a game I would never play myself.

Xaryu plays 1 game, not "games." That 1 game is 20 years old. I can not imagine someone so obsessed playing 1 game for the rest of their lives, its certainly time to move on and enjoy actual good games.

It got stale tbh, he was doing it weekly when he used to stream wow. Was better when he did it monthly or longer

Yeah, I feel that especially in SoD and Cata classic. I'm a more dedicated hardcore player but I don't like sweaty forced meta play. On retail I just don't interact with people, so I wouldn't know.There my biggest turn off is the game itself. Blizzard only caters to completionist collectors and and masochist elitists. If you look foreward to any different kind of content you won't find it on retail anymore.

Specially in classic, im very surprised to see the classic community being 10x worse then retails. What a shame. Its honestly tiresome playing classic because of people.

True. I love the game, but playing in pugs and the sweaty guildies/toxic behaviour has killed it for me. Even though I still play playing wow alone is just not as fun.

That isn’t even the reason, WoW in itself has reach a state of being repetitive, poor choices by the developers. After 20 years it’s more or less the same game. That’s a long damn time, each season Oh have to refarm gear.

It's a 20 year old game. Imagine only playing and streaming Halo 2, which was also released in 2004. You would have to be obsessed/addicted to play that long.

​@@Raine1990Bad comparison. WoW is a totally different game compared to 20 years ago with constant new updates. They just took a wrong turn and for someone like Asmon retail isn't fun anymore. He literally said he will play SoD and that is a spin on the 20 year old version of the game. So age has nothing to do with the fun you can have with the game.

@Furellus the game was fun 18-20 years ago, when most of us 30+ year old started, now it is only a shell of its original. Asmond loved vanilla/BC and shows interest in playing that era of the game, but deep down, he knowns WoW would never return to the game it was.

It happened way before. He left WoW when the huge mass of players left around 9.1. When someone starts playing a variety of games instead of maining WoW, it's very hard to return. There is no strong attachment anymore to the character in the game and exploring a different game every month is super fun. I feel the same way, tried playing WoW a couple times but I simply can not do it for more than 2 weeks.

His love passed away for everything not just the game losing your parents is very heartbreaking

​@@szilardenyedi2855 Yup, I'm the same way i quit a few months back. Not because the game wasn't fun for me anymore but because of real life. Work takes up allot of my time and I started going to the gym now about a year ago. Also recently added another gym day and more hours to my gym time, so my gaming time is limited. I also like playing different games so I had a choice, either quit WoW and play other games or make WoW my only game. And while WoW is a good game, it feels like a job sometimes and after playing it for almost 20 years I've had enough. There are so many good games right now and on my steam backlog. WoW is good sure, but it's to old to compete with games I haven't played yet.

I think Shadowlands just killed his passion for the game. as it did for many other people.

Side note, the time periods you pull will show wildly different numbers. Comparing his peak WoW numbers over the last 5 years is not fair, it's cherrypicking. Today, he is a more popular Just Chatting streamer. I'm not debating why that is, but it's the case.
