I've been waiting on this one! Hello from Belfast! If you are ever in NI let me know and I'll look after you. Dummies in this context are baby pacifiers which I think u call them in America? It's a way for parents to get the kids to give them up. 😂

I can't put my finger on exactly what it is that makes your ASMR voice so special but it's THE BEST!

Great to see a focus on Belfast and Northern Ireland! I would say there's a growing identity that people would associate themselves with here that would be 'Northern Irish'. You should definitely come over and visit, it's a great part of the world despite our troubled past.

That isn't true according the most recent census. Those claiming to be British alone or Northern Irish has declined while those claiming to be Irish has increased. This isn't a surprise however.

Loveee it! Been dying for some Northern Ireland content, thank you! County Down next? The Mourne Mountains, Strangford Lough and the county's ties to Saint Patrick are some of Down's most interesting features, to name a few 😁

At 18:40 I would say it’s definitely a divide and individual to each family too be honest. There’s lots of families who see it as Ireland and nothing else and many that are Northern Irish but lean towards either irish or British however there is the Ulster Scots that are British and northern Irish so I wouldn’t say everyone is mentally Irish 😊

Aye the majority of folk I know who are from NI really don't like being called Irish - of course that's because they're from British Communities

@@lewis_kelly Incorrect: The majority of the population of NI are Native Irish Catholics.

@BrianBorumaMacCennetig367 yeh maybe gradually so but in fairness that wasn't what my comment said- most people I know from NI are Protestant/British

Loch Ness in Scotland is much deeper and longer than Lough Neagh - it contains more water by volume than any other lake in the United Kingdom. In fact Loch Ness contains more water than all rivers and lakes in England and Wales combined :) Great video as always!

If you can work it into your itinerary, it would be well worth spending some time in Cork - its lovely, and you can get the train out to Cobh where there's a great Titanic museum there amongst other things.

@@ASMRGeographica I enjoyed Dublin when I first visited a few years ago, but its Belfast that I'd like to spend more time in - I had a Friday night and a Saturday there earlier this year and I'm looking forward to going back as there looks to be lots of interesting places to visit.

King Henry VIII didn't invent Anglicanism, it wasn't until Elizabeth I that the Anglican faith became fully realized. As for your question on NI, I'd say people who consider themselves Irish or British is pretty split considering the prevalence of the DUP.

Great job in telling the story of the history so well, nothing rude to say to you at all :) I'd quibble a little over some of the details but getting bogged down in details wouldn't tell the story as well as you do, and on the broad sweep, I don't think anyone would be too put out by how you describe the history, which given how it's contested, is very good going!! Do you know there is a gene in a part of northern ireland that is more common there than anywhere else in the world that results in giantism? The AIP gene which has produced some very tall people. So maybe that's where the Fionn MacCumhaill myth comes from!

Protestantism existed before the Anglican Church was created by the King, & coupled with the fact that even in Wales or Scotland the Anglican Church is labelled differently, I imagine the Protestant label is one of the differences in terminologies between England & the other Home Nations. Also, as Presbyterianism is most prominent, whereas it is relatively uncommon across Mainland UK these days. Also, Scots are the largest population who moved- many Glaswegians/West Coast Scots sound Northern Irish (East Coast) here and there😅

The Saxons were a group before the Normans, the Normans were A mix of settled Vikings and northern French from Normandy. The Saxons were Germans and Dutch i understand, and predated the Normans, and their invasion in 1066 of England headed by William the conqueror.
