ASMR & Beer 49 - Not Your Father's Root Beer + Solitaire

I perform a modest review of Small Town Brewery's Not Your Father's Root Beer, make a Root Beer Beer ice cream float out of it, and then play a few games of Solitaire.
I believe this is ASMR & Beer #49, not #50 like I thought it was. But who's counting ;)

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
ASMR videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety, stress, insomnia, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and more.

+Ephemeral Rift Oh PLEASE! Thank YOU for years of ASMR! I subscribed to you when you did the cthulhu chanting with the skull face paint a few years ago. Your support asmr and helping friend etc has been a big influence on my life. Really helped put things into perspective for me. You're a real inspiration and I hope you continue for many more years. Time flies man and it just gets faster. I think getting into the same routines helps it along. I feel changing my environment and learning new things keeps time in check.

The beer's from LaCrosse, WI. I go to college a half an hour from LaCrosse. Right up the Mississippi River in Minnesota. I have to drive through there to get to school.

This guys great. Stumbled upon this after watching a skyrim exploration vid. Im amazed you can turn a beer review into an hour. I agree about this drink, its not much of a beer at all but tastes good, its pretty much just an alcoholic root beer. They supposedly have an 11% abv version but i havent tried it. Mission Brewery out of San Diego also does a hard root beer that I like a lot more.

Something a bit odd that struck me (probably due to my sleep-deprived state), but during the Solitaire section, the pattern on the table made it look more like a close-up of a wall, which made the whole section a bit surreal, but in a really interesting and cool way.

Have you ever tried Coney Island Hard Root Beer? It's pretty good. It's like Not Your Fathers but sweeter. It's all around Philadelphia, if you're in that area.

I don't know if you would be able to get your hands on this but you really should try to get an Ale called 'Doombar' made by Sharps from Cornwall, England. It is a 5* ale for me..... Very Very Nice!

There's another good hard root beer, Coney Island Hard Root Beer. I'm not sure how you'd feel about it, since the alcohol is practically unable to be tasted, but it's my favourite~

I discovered your channel about a month or so ago and I quite like what I've seen so far. Your Lovecraft ASMR videos are my favorite by far but I also thoroughly enjoy these volg type videos as they seem more personal and relaxed (heh, see what I did there?) On a side note I love Not Your Father's Root Beer. Lastly I'm toying with the idea of doing an ASMR video myself where I pose as a Malkavian, one of the vampire clans from the Vampire the Masquerade series.

this is a silly question but often times I see you holding a beer bottle and always notice the complete lack of condensation, do you drink beers warm? I ask because I've never really seen an unopened cold beer that doesn't have even a little condensation on it.

traditional root beer is not vanilla flavoured, vanilla is a secondary flavoring more common is nowadays mass produced root beer the primary flavouring would be sassafras or sarsaparilla which in nowadays mass produced root beer is mostly artificial, and root beer unlike what most people think doesn't all taste the same and can have alchool, and there are some root beers out there that you can enjoy like you would an actual beer and not feel like you're drinking soda

I was actually scanning the comments looking for someone else to mention this. glad I found it. Coney Island is sweetened with molasses and has less aftertaste to it. highly recommend it.

+Jeremy Murphy those are basically sodas, you should try a more traditional root beer without any artificial flavours and actual herbs and spices and decent alchool content, root beer can be made to actually feel like you're drinking a type of beer and not soda
