Recently finished “The Virgins” which you recommended a while back and wow what a potent ominous display of coming of age sexuality and the destructive power of first love. Days later and I’m still in awe of this book 🤯
One of my new year's resolutions was to reclaim my life by making time for myself and things I enjoy. I recently found a first edition of Bless Me, Ultima at a bookstore in Santa Fe and have basically fallen headfirst back into reading. Please update on how you liked these after you finish them. Happy reading!
The Winter Solstice and The Lathe Of Heaven are definitely going on my tbr! Alphabetical Diaries seems so interesting I’ll have to check that out as well! I always adore your book videos, so many different recommendations❤️
it was a big bookstore week for me too 😅 I also got Alphabetical Diaries, in addition to Wandering Stars by Tommy Orange, Piglet by Lottie Hazell, and Splinters by Leslie Jamison. So many good releases in February!!!! Happy reading! 😊
I finished the count of monte cristo after having it on my TBR for like four years (classics scare me) and I loved it SO much! I just started a haunting of hill house and really into it too
Yayy! Love your recommendations! I’m halfway through JG Ballard’s autobiography “Miracles of Life” at the moment and finding it really interesting. Probably going to give his novel “High Rise” a go after this as it’s been sitting on my shelf for a while.
I just got The Future by Catherine Leroux and I'm so looking forward to it! It'll be nice to read something that isn't for class... Your selection is eclectic and interesting as ever!
I've had my eye on that Eula Biss book for a while! Thinking I will take the plunge next time I'm at the bookstore. Right now, I'm in the middle of Euphoria by Lily King and enjoying it. Next up is either The Extinction of Irina Rey by Jennifer Croft (I picked it up for the interesting premise and the fact that she is Olga Tokarczuk's translator!) or Erasure by Percival Everett (after watching and loving the film adaptation, American Fiction). Did you happen to see The Atlantic's new Great American Novels project? I was really inspired by that list and might start lightly working my way through some of the titles.
Omg you’ll love The Lathe of Heaven, it’s fantastic. Also looking forward to Alphabetical Diaries! I’m reading A Ghost in the Throat by Doireann Ní Ghríofa now, I think it’s good but I’m only 10 percent in
I love your book videos ^_^ thank you , I am definitely checking out the essay book. I’m reading a book rn called Marx for Cats: A radical bestiary !! It’s about how we can draw parallels between political movements and cats?? It’s very cute oddly enough . I’m waiting for the Monsters book from your last video to come out on paperback 😩
I never thought of this before, but after talking about lighting and you only showing half of your face, I was curious how much of a logistical nightmare your 9 outfit video must have been!
