14:10 As an American, I would describe the ACOTAR books as “smutty” or “spicy”. I think that you could use both interchangeably, or say that they have a lot of spice and smut. I would use “spicy” to describe a wider variety of situations that are sexy, exciting, or full of tension; but “smutty” is really only used for sexual and/or dirty things. I hope this helps with your language barrier. Also, your English is phenomenal! ❤

ohhh I'm so happy you liked Icebreaker. I read it myself in the beginning of the year and I have come to realize it is one of those books people either love or hate. Personally I adored it!!!! It helped me get out of a reading slump and for that I am forever grateful. If you're looking for more books with a healthier couple dynamic I would recommend The Summer Girl by Elle Kennedy. It is part in a series of stand-alones, so maybe that's not something you would want to jump right into but as someone who read all of the books in order I can confidently say that it is the best one and that context from the previous books isn't necessarily needed. It was just so refreshing to read a romance book without pointless arguing, toxicity and jealousy.

i paused this video, bought icebreaker bc this was the only sign i needed, and just finished it 4 days later. it was everything that i needed and more to get me back into the swing of reading!!
If you like Icebreaker, you might like a film called The Cutting Edge which has a very similar plot (skater teams up with a ice hockey player to go for gold at the Olympics, they hate each other but eventually fall in love).
6:50 couldnt agree more i get sooo stressed when people lie alot in books/movies/shows and they get caught up in all of their lies and misunderstandings and it frustrates me and stresses me out waaay too much, also so off topic but i cant get over how pretty u are😭😭

I suggested a month ago that you could read audio books. It wasn't a sexual one in any way. Also, the marriage proposal thing can definitely be creepy but it's probably just someone goofing.
ACOTAR books are a wild ride but I think it has to be all or nothing. Like all 5 books have to be read to finally get it. It’s not the BEST book series, but it’s definitely a whole series. Also, book 4 sucks. Book 5 is very spicy. 😂
I agree with you on Maas. I find all of her books that I've read have very toxic uncommunicative romance and it's just infuriating. I can't read anything by her anymore.
I finished ACOTAR a few days ago and I felt even that book could’ve been shorter but now I’m halfway thru ACOMAF (using audio cause I can’t sit down and read those books with all the world building) and I’m enjoying it but also I’m like why are these so long?? Like a lot is happening but there’s several places where I feel like it couldve stopped and then picked up in the next book 😩 I can’t wait to finish the series so I can also understand the memes on booktok tho 😂😂
Fleur, I think you would really love Diary of Broken Kids by the beloved asmrtist Nana Fox based in NZ. It’s a really awesome criminal romance and I’ve been buried in her RU-vid audiobook. Let me know if you’ve heard of it?
I was also like wtf when I got to the incest in TSH 😑, but did love it otherwise and it’s a book that’s stayed with me. If you haven’t read it yet If We Were Villains is my fav Dark Academia I’ve read so far so I really recommend! 🖤

I recently read Punk 57 also and thought it was awfulllllll. I thought it was poorly written and Mischa was an awful character. I really don’t understand how anyone likes it!
