One good thing about the food having so much sodium/salt is that it will help u stay hydrated, cause ur body will hydrate from water more I believe. Not defending that it’s good for u just saying in a camping situation could be good to help stay hydrated.
There is wholesomeness in the irony of a man spending 40 min to make a single cup of coffee using a fancy 1'30 boiler and half a dozen other gadgets, all while camping in the woods.
Irony is usually the older and cooler brother of hypocrisy, that rather than not taking others seriously, your able to recognize that nobody should. All of our times pass, and no one can protect a room full of gold and jewels.
Who the hell invented that coffee maker ? It was invented with asmr in mind . 😂 by the time you figured out how to grind the beans I was already long gone asleep 😴

Hmm... Maybe he could begin the video outdoors, next to a fishing spot IRL, and then pull out one of these electronic fishing devices "for kids" with fishes and/or ducks and start fishing those 😂
well i don't liek the idea of catch and release and maiming fish potentially killing them from the hook bite. but i think i might do fishing with no hooks. it's all about the sounds and environment anyway, not so much the fish themselves amirite ;)

Id recommend getting a sleeping mask to help with the light in the morning and possibly some comfortable ear plugs to help with the sound. Thats what I do when I camp it it helps tremendously!
@@EphemeralRifttry different kind of ear plugs, try to buy as soft as possible. And not too big. Some of them are comfortable and some are not. So maybe you just had a bad kind of ear plugs 🤔

Appreciate the comment, though it's not a break! It may not seem like it, but it's still work, just like any other video of mine. This entire channel is me working doing what I enjoy, no different than any other artist, nurse, etc ;)
I dont know about the commercial stuff but our 24hr ration packs in the uk had high sodium and basically high everything because they are planning on you needing all of that salt and calories
great video! the meals are loaded with salt as they are intended to be backpacking meals. the sodium replaces that which is lost to perspiration, and to prevent cramps.

When camping/hiking, you'll probably lose more electrolytes than normal, and also if you drink coffee/tea. Leet campers whittle their own utensils, toothbrushes, and make their own knife from stone.
Brillant video I’ve enjoyed many of your videos throughout the years and am really enjoying the nature videos you do now, watching the assembly of all the cooking equipment was really engaging for me and I find myself watching the entire video being able to relax without my brain wondering and getting distracted wanting to look for different things to watch and totally agree with what you said about being outdoors there’s moments when I listen to the birds and it can just bring such joy videos like this help remind me that everything’s okey thank you for all that you put in to making these loving them all 😊

Mr. E. first time doing Aeropress? Next time leave it 2 minutes in there after pouring the boiling waterm and stir a bit before extraction/pressing! Changes a lot the resulting coffee flavor - And for a more advanced Aeropress pouring look into "Reverse Aeropress" (no air = no mess = no over aerated coffee) - Love, an Aeropress maniac

FYI jetboil makes a small adapter you can put on top of the flame assembly that will allow you sit pots and pans on it. Works just as well as the pocket rocket.

Hey, your a genius man and I am inspired by you to create my own ASMR channel. I really need to get started. Anyhow. In a Violent Nature is a perfect movie for your craving. Very slow burn. One shot for minutes at a time. Great attention to mood building with natural sound. Like the sound of the antagonist walking through the woods and the crunching of the leaves. Sound of the woods. I once used a walmart inflatable kayak on the ocean to get to an island 3 miles away at midnight. It was worth it because I could see the milky way kinda. However my tent was cheap so the biting gnats could fit through the mesh and i got eaten alive. Also there were these balls with spikes on them all over the sand dunes and i cut myself up because I couldn’t see them. The only flashlight i had was my phone which i had to turn off to save battery. There was also a yacht beached on the shore and people in the far distance having some sort of laser party but i stayed away from them. Some dude came up to me on a segway with his dog and said whats up then zoomed off, i don’t know how he saw me. All i brought was a gallon of water, tuna, and smuckers but it was enough for a day and night. Also i learned my lesson to plan for tides, because when i kayaked back to the boat dock, there was about 300feet of pluff mud I had to walk through to make it back to the dryed up boat dock while dragging a kayak. That stuff stinks and every step i took my leg would sink down to my thigh or deeper. The gas underneath the mud would be released and smell like farts for every stride I made. Then i had to deflate that kayak with no water nearby to wash it off and shove it in my trunk of my car so that smelled like shit. One of the best things i’ve ever done.
I live 5 minutes from the manufacturer of that coffee! It’s a little rich for me but they have a few different kinds now and I like their medium roast Ethiopian brew. Edit: it’s a light brew. It’s so damn good though!
Just getting to this video, and I see that ER is using an AeroPress. I've been a loyal AeroPress user for about 15 years. Still got the original one. Damn fine coffee maker.
I've personally never seen a video by you without the long beard. Not sure if you tend do this in the summers or if it's something NEW new, but I love this look. I'm so excited to finish watching this one tonight.
Awesome video as always. But I assume the high level of salt is to preserve the food. Also if you are eating those you probably need more salt due to how much activity you'd be doing in that environment where you'd eat those.
i don't know if you're going to read this but i wanted to say that I've been watching your videos since i was 14 years old. now, I'm 20 years old, i can say that me and you went through a lot of stuff with my life. from getting my first heartbreak to graduating high school and to finding my first job. thanks uncle E for being here for us
