ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response it is described as a pleasurable tingling sensation that can be felt most commonly in the back of the scalp and down the spine but not limited to these area's.
I try to describe ASMR experience to people using something common like visiting a hairdresser, do you find the experience of someone focusing on you, the gentle touching of your hair, the sound of the scissors moving around you relaxing?
That would be a relaxing experience, watching ASMR video is like recreating that type of experience.
I believe most people can experience ASMR, to experience ASMR you need to find your trigger, common triggers:

Watching Someone Focus on a task
Personal Attention - like a hair cut
Watching Role Play
Tapping Sounds
Crinkle Sounds

Gawd I am such a sucker for eye exam RP's. Also, I love the sounds your shirt made when you moved. It created extra pauses and settling sounds, and that works for me. PS. I kind of love that painting behind you.

That's the word that makes it relaxing and calming because it subconciosly tell your brain that you don't have to worry because it makes you feel like nothing bad will happen because it makes you feel like there is no need to put your guard up. If that makes sense. I tried to explain it but it's more of a feeling. Sometimes subconsious feelings are difficult to explain.

Why is this so relaxing? Nothing gets me sleepy faster than this ASMR stuff. I have tons of relaxation music but it doesn't compare at all to the effect this has on me.

For some reason I always go back to this video. Even when I sometimes don't get tingles from it, I still enjoy the tests themselves. And fact that once in a while you can hear the sounds of the keyboard makes it all very tingly when you're about to fall asleep and are not really aware of what is going on.

Haha, that's funny. I wonder if that's how he naturally talks out if it was intentional for this character. I don't know why, but in this video I actually find it relaxing. Normally in real life when people repeat some word over and over in conversion, I start to feel a little OCD like I need to start throwing synonyms at them so they'll stop lol :)

Love this! Though I love how Dmitri seems to have an intense internal conflict as he attempts to resist the compulsion to watch the Q-tip instead of looking at where our eyes ought to be to see if /we're/ watching it, hehe.

Too many critics on here. What I loved about this video is how natural you made the roleplay. Most people try too hard to whisper, smack lips or make weird hand movements to trigger the viewer. Those fail to work on me. But this was so natural I was tingling all over. Good work!!

I had pretty severe seasonal allergic conjunctivitis from the age of 4 right up until around 16 and although the monthly check ups involved some painful inspections of my eyes, the eye exams did have a soothing element with regard to asmr so it's nice now to watch a video that recaptures the pleasure without any of the pain.

Whenever I'm really sleepy, and can't sleep, and need help trying to sleep, I usually just watch and listen to ASMR Videos like these. Sometimes it really relaxes me, and I start closing my eyes, but I open them RIGHT after it happens... Am I the only person who does this?

I am subscribed to several whisperers and your Dr Dmitri vids relax me like none other. Please do a ENT exam, (ear nose and throat). I like your exam style but maybe role play seeing some inflammation and what small easy things the patient can do to remedy. Every role player examines perfect health, it's time for the patient to have a reason to visit. (bump on the head was perfect).

8-10 times daily, alternated with scalp checks 1 & 2. His voice has got a really nice 'sedative background white noise' effect for trying to stay calm while doing difficult problem solving and debugging.

I would be forever indebted to you if you made an ear to ear soft speaking video. These Dr Dmitri videos are my favorite because you speak instead of whisper most of the time. Your voice combined with your impeccable sound quality are enough to send me to tingle town every time, even though I've been pretty resistant to ASMR for a while.
