They arent going to confiscate it. At least not till they get banned. That is the only setup with this. To get everyone to register so eventually down the road when they ban them they know exactly where they are and who has them.

The romeo 5 on the sig rifle isn't too high, and it's in the correct place. The optic is actually a little low by today's standard. They come with an absolute cowitness mount, which is around 1.42" tall from the top of the rail to the center of the glass. A lower 1/3 cowitness would be more comfortable to shoot (around 1.57" high), but a 1.93" mount is becoming pretty standard today, with 2.32" and even taller mounts being used by some. If hayley sees this (doubtful, I'm aware), she shouldn't go any lower with the mount. It'll be extremely uncomfortable to shoot. You're making good money I'm sure, so try a scalarworks micro T2 mount in 1.57 or 1.93 with that romeo 5 red dot. The Fairfield optic on the ruger won't hold zero for a couple reasons. For one, it's a cheap red dot not meant for the kind of recoil any rifle bigger than a 22lr will produce. And two, it's mounted on the handguard (and she recognized its in the wrong place, but was just misguided as to why that's the case). Handguards aren't stable enough to mount optics. They can move, even ever so slightly, and that will shift the zero. Mounting an optic to the reciever is always best for l because the barrel and reciever are basically locked together and the reciever isn't going to shift or move like the handguard could. Long? (insert OF joke here) Yes. Educational? Also, yes
